  1. Bad news if true, gives Kelvin Davies a final swansong that I don't think many including him thought he would! Hope any mistakes he makes don't cost us dearly as he's been a decent servant even in the dark days when he fell out massively with our fans at Sheffield Wednesday when we were stuffed and he spent the whole game diving over the ball. Doesn't really change much for the summer we needed a new number two and we still do I'm sure the club were always looking for someone with quality and this should make it easier to get someone in as they will get an immediate opportunity and if they do well who is to say Forster would get back in?
  2. This a thousand times, saints fan's haven't had it this good in a long time and nobody knows what the future holds so everyone needs to enjoy it while it's here. Those moaning about a season in the Europa league need to remind themselves that my generation have only one memory of the saints in Europe and I for one didn't think we would have a hope of qualifying via league placing anytime soon when we were relegated!
  3. Something is fundamentally wrong at arsenal there injury record is shocking Walcott Ox and Wiltshire look finished as far as fulfilling there potential is concerned!
  4. If city don't win the league he is a shoe in and even if they do I would expect him to arrive. They are not looking anywhere else.
  5. Thought we treated him like crap but no he's not good enough for us now.
  6. Classic premier league attitude focussing on some vague notion that youngsters would somehow be improved by this idea and ignoring the impact on the lower league players and sides who would loose out massively as a result.
  7. Terrible idea would totally ruin what is actually quite a good competition for lower league teams and gives players who would otherwise have no chance the opportunity of a cup final day out. I really enjoyed it when we were down there and will admit to being disappointed when we were knocked out second season as I quite liked the idea of defending it. As someone else said this would just turn it into a second rate league cup which is already contested by premier league reserve sides in front of tiny crowds. Hopefully the FA obsession with B teams will be replaced by something slightly less stupid and irritating soon.
  8. I think you can when it's true! It's perfectly fare to say we have underperformed recently and anyone who denies it is mental but when you look at the season as a whole I'd say we are still performing above expectation only the final league position will let us know if we have underperformed for the season although I'd say we did in both cups given the way we excited them both!
  9. I remember being chuffed when we got Prutton he looked a real prospect and at the start of his time at saints was putting in some solid displays then it all went wrong with that red card his career which had been on the up continuously to that point quickly reversed. I was so disappointed with him in the championship much like Oakley I expected his quality to shine through and for him to boss games which sadly never happened. Rest is history I've seen him out in a couple of decent performances for Sheffield Wednesday and he was still clapping the crowd and shooting wildly from distance!
  10. Did Darren Bent proven premier league goal scorer go on loan to Derby in the transfer window?

    Keep calm

Exactly Pelle's problem is he's knackered and low on confidence but we can't rest him as we have literally no other goal scorers at the club!
  12. Quality player and our best free signing by miles! Was gutted when he left and stunned when he passed away. RIP
  13. It will go in cycles there will be plenty of years when we only have one or possibly no players of interest to the big boys while at times like last summer and this one we will have a collection hopefully we will be able to maintain a decent standard throughout and maybe one day win a cup!
  14. Less than 20 million we should just say 'no' it's simply not worth selling such an important player for peanuts Less than 30 million and we should seriously consider rejecting it but probably accept it as we don't want a ****ed off player on the books and we can probably pick up a couple of up and coming players a potential replacements? Over 30 million we should say 'yes'
  15. Would be an interesting gamble! Can't say I'd mind seeing him come on for the last 15 minutes if we needed a goal he's always known where the goal is!
  16. Totally, Mane has made a mistake Koeman has enforced his rules and now everyone needs to move on. Mane will be an important part of the team for the rest of the season we still have a chance of achieving greatness this season!
  17. Hell I hope he scores a last minute consolation goal and the whole stadium stands to applaud him, he really is that much of a legend that he deserves it.
  18. Love how everything is taken literally on this forum! Do you seriously believe that the lineup quoted doesn't highlight a worrying lack of striking alternatives in our squad? We should have beg stollen or borrowed a striker in the window it was beedin' obvious to everyone wether we went traditional English lump or cultured international super star we needed an option!
  19. That line up makes the point perfectly I'd rather billy sharp up front!
  20. Would love a top four quality striker at the club as we haven't had one in years! What we need at the minute is an option if Gallagher was fit I would have no problem with him being the option but currently our subs benh doesn't have a single recognised centre forward on it let alone a top four one! Gallagher would be fine if he was fit but nobody seems to know when he will be back, we have relied pretty much entirely on Pelle all season and got away with it now when we needed someone to throw into the mix we have nothing. He's a centre forward he would provide the option which we don't have. Mane is already fulfilling a role! Personally I would have bought a young striker with potential who wanted to come here and have an opportunity, there must be plenty all over Europe who would have jumped at the chance. small fee small risk but gives us the option of having two centre forwards on the pitch when desperate for a goal! It's not just last night that has made me think this I said many times during the window we needed a striker (almost any would do!) especially after Long got crocked!
  21. Mane isn't a centre forward he doesn't hold the ball up, Adebayor would have been a gamble sure but we chose not to even roll the dice! At the minute we have no other centre forward at the club capable of sharing the workload that we have put on Pele who looks tired and out of form failing to get anyone even a decent youngster in was criminal I know we weren't going to get a proven super star international but we needed a body to play upfront and we got yet another 2 attacking midfield players!
  22. Exactly giving our only striker grief during the game seems unlikely to make him play better! It's not like we have a queue forming behind him for the centre forward spot!
  23. Almost any striker, we have nothing on the bench to throw on in a situation like yesterday! Even Zarate that went to QPR or addebyor would have been an option at least!
  24. In two minds about this one it does seem a bit harsh but he's a grown man throwing soft fruit at a footy match a ban might do the muppet some good!
  25. This all day long, it's in our hands and a win tomorrow will keep that bit of breathing space over the chasing pack! fingers and toes crossed but I can honestly say what ever happens this season it will have been amazing I never thought I would see Saints fighting it out at the business end of the table this deep into a season. It is remarkable when you compare our spending to those around us.
