I think Chros Nicholl subbed him a lot in the early days
-
MLT was superb but he was sited as being lazy and a luxury by many Saints fans then. Perhaps the same mistakes may be made by current day Saints fans re Ossie, not that he is Matts class as of yet.
-
It not me being negative about him, as I really rate him but just pointing to that he may have not come out with glory wit the. England staff, I could be completely wrong about that
-
I promise you there were quite a few times when MLT went missing. I had many debates with Saints fans in those days who called his lazy, not interested and should be dropped !

If I recall correctly , Clyne put out a twitter after the Under 21 Euros 'get me out of here'or something on those lines.he may have left a poor view of himself with the England set up. I may be barking up the wrong tree of course
-
I haven't seen the game, but the bits I have seen him play for us showed me that he has a quick brain and will score from nothing. Try and keep your faith in him, he will turn out to be a good signing

thanks, pretty good considering things.

You are known to be a bit over the top Roger, your passionate support sometimes clouds the truth IMO.

Post Match Reaction: Manchester United 1-1 SAINTS
OldNick replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I think you will find many top players took time to get used to the PL when they first came to England. We don't need to add pressure to Ossie by turning on him. -
They got a win and now unbeaten for 4 games. Any idea what the attendance was?
-
Only we seem to find negatives after a superb result
-
team of international players always seem a bit jaded after international duty
-
perhaps he thinks that Harry will get the job if Roy is sacked, he will then be sure to go to Brazil Lol
-
oh dear.........I know ill pretend that I dont read Big Bad Bobs posts and he is on ignore.........sorry Bob....mine was better. Thats chips for me then,
-
I realise that, but they are established players, players on the fringes will be under the microscope more.If it is touch and go who to take I feel the age thing may make a difference, especially when they are talking being ready for the Euros in 2 years time
-
he's no sage that's for sure
-
and some of the press! It is an England disease, do well and then try and bring them down

I feel that all along Hodgson has only played RL due to the lack of options. Was he not on Soccer Sunday last season saying that players like RL were the past not the future. The heat in Brazil is best suited to younger players. I really hope RL does go but Hodgson will go for a younger player if RL does not hist form. AL may have a better chance as he has brightened up in the last couple of games and seems to have found a spark

it is amazing how a journo is such an authority on accounting, is there no end to this mans abilities? I assume Steven Hawking phones him up to get some advice on the Universe
-
Im sure the San Marino one would do so, after all he is an international and must be better than the one of the players who helped us gain promotion to the PL
-
Talksport stated one of the players took offence. Do black people think every time monkey is mentioned it is an attack on them??? I very much doubt it. Alan Perrins post is most apt IMO

Saints playing for England (and other internationals)
OldNick replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
I think England looked exciting and played quite well. The forwards added pace to the attacks and did enough to justify their place in the team. I would have loved RL to play but the result was the. Ost important thing. Rickie would have linked the forward play well but the pace was a key, especially with Wellback playing wide -
If his contract runs down in the summer what is he worth? £1m?
