that is some mark of remembrance as they have been doing so at home games for the last 50years
-
add to that the last gasp Boro equalizer
-
Why did NA not bring on the big forward, he had nothing to lose to go for it but took off Robson-kanu . To be fair to Redknapp he would have gone for it and if they had got 1 goal back who knows what would have happened. They went out with a whimper IMo

. Getting promotion was brilliant and that will be remembered but to me not to put NA in the 'great' category.
-
That I can agree with but the same would have been said qbout Readings chances. The position we had got ourselves in and well ahead of Reading it was poor not to win the league.
-
so you think we should have been overtaken by Reading??? Or am I misunderstanding your post
-
Kevin Phillips was really gutted for QPR . Did he play for them? I think when Harry took over QPR were 4points from safety, if so all those millions and they have gone backwards lol
-
I might be 'a nutter' in your poor tired head but we all look at things differently. He did well on both occasions but not a great, both times we should have won the league especially last season.I can only assume that NC thought so as well.
-
I don't get a box of tissues out every time NA is mentioned. He did well he was not great, there is no way we should not have won the CCC last season not doing so was a failure

Adkins or Pochetinno; if we could choose today

watching the game it was clear that players like le fonder were winning headers against our centre backs, to not bring on the big forward they had on the bench was a poor decision in my opinion. To take off Robson-kanu was also odd IMO . 2 down and you don't throw the dice was poor, HR would have gone for it and sent on 2attackers. The way we were so nervy meant that if they had got 1 goal back we would have been on the rack. They went out with a whimper and the poor sub selection was very much like his tenure at Saints -
Nobody is airbrushing NA out of history but as time goes on the penny drops that his achievements were good but not great. We should have won at least 1trophy under him. We have moved to a better level of performance already, Iam hopeful we will do even better when he has 'his' squad next season
-
i. Don't think so, Stoke and Sunderland play in that style kit and it is not recognisable as Saints first as it was when we were in the top league before
-
IMO you are wrong whilst I agree NA may have got a better result against QPR I do not believe he would have overseen positive results against Man C Chelsea home and Liverpool.as for getting anything today in a pressure game I doubt that as well. It is all opinion of course but the poignant fact is that without those wins against the big teams we would be right in the mire now
-
He is pointing to the truth though, we have performed better recently and players like Morgan and Jay have become better. It is also noticeable that he says he rather than Nigel etc
-
As the thread title says. He has done little wrong and so lets get behind his decisions and accept he is brighter and a better judge than most of us on here. I dont like the ticket tax etc but if we want to see top players and top football we have to accept there is a price to pay for us all.

i would have got rid of him before, the way the morale would have been knocked after the ridiculous subs during the Man U game could have been terminal. When we needed the points to be so reckless taking off the top 3 on the day with 25minutes woulod have made the squad doubt him -

sadly the ingredients were lacking. It is all opinion, but there is no way NP would have got us where we are now, and as much as i do not rate NA as a PL manager I rate him higher than Pearson. Decent man etc but he has not done the business with a large financial backer. -

of which division? it would not be the PL -
Just me showing off my history knowledge Scotty,Lol. keep them coming though

I have seen over the years some of our best players ruined by an England call up and the disappointment of not playing or dropped quickly. David Armstrong was one of the best midfielders around, he got to play a game for England and played out of position, never to be picked again. MLt ...well that is just a travesty. im happy for none to be picked
-
I don't expect SRL to be picked for England as if he does well that would leave Hodgson a problem. He is trying to get a young nucleus and is trying to sidestep older players. As for Savage, for him to know anything about quality on the ball is like DI Canio speaking about the merits of Socialism
-
Surely it. Would be Abyssinia

have you noticed that the UK economy has been in recession for the last 3 years? all coincides with Pompey not having the money put into the economy lol

there is a small pocket of fans on here who are against KD. If KD had let in JT header there would have been the comments of why didnt come and catch it. Fans are blinkered and are not always fairminded. It seemed to me that KD intentionally kicked the ball into touch instead of blindly kicking it upfield. I doubt many of our outfield players can kick the ball accurately with both feet, in fact watching saints over the years some couldnt with either foot!
