The last thing I would want is fans running our club. I noticed the meeting you lot had the other week, the questions were all very important like can we bring the price of the beer down etc. There will be the usual ones who want the celebrity more than the health of the club and will put their agenda ahead of what is best for the club. I prefer a leader who can channel the club in one direction, yes it may upset some but in the longrun decisions are not fudged. You are mates with Lynham surely you can get him to put his finances your way Afterall it must all still be there after the Pinacle saga

I remeber hom for 2 things the first , his goal that got us to Wembley and the 2nd that Howard kendall played him in the Fa cup 84 semi final that completely nullified Mark Dennis's threat. The worst day in my suporting life

Too much money too much waste? The other day on the news they got a helicopter to film a correspondent on the roof of one of the tall buildings in Canary wharf, due only to talk about the economy. The same reporter could have done the same report in a studio. Lavish overspending due to having far too much money. I recall Top of the pops being filmed live from germany(?) at the start of the World Cup there. Why?

If Carrol was not playing on sat it would have been a huge sense of relief in our dressing room, the fact RL wasnt playing gave theirs a lift. Apparently we did well in the first half, we dont know for sure but RL may well have taken a chance created. it is also a fact that he was taken off twice in games we were leading on and we lost when we were in control.

For a midfielder who thinks scoring is what you do with a bit of chalk by a dartboard, who is the rock in front of the leagues worst defence I suggest you are being generous in your valuation. I don't see the adulation of him, but he is a capable midfielder only
-
Fans from other teams keep asking me why RL is not playing, and how they can't believe NA is not playing him. I suspect RL is wondering why as well, it must question his own ability. An Everton fan said to me , perhaps NA does not believe he is a PL player. I have yet to speak to another teams fan who can understand why he is not playing.

A defensive midfielder in a team that has shed a record number of goals, I suggest is worth less than 2m

MOTD failure to see push on Fonte - Bias??
OldNick replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
Shearer doesn't seem to have much love of us. For a past player who set him on the road you,d expect a little more. He is dour though and so he might have been in a fit of laughter and you wouldn't know -
It's odd but Corp Ho used to call me Nick Nack on here
-
Watching NA interview on MOtd i think he said 'we thought we had bought some good players in the summer' He must be pretty sore that the signings have not shone.I do think JRod will /is coming good
-
thats great if he lives for another 100years. Their problem will be replacing him. It will be complete upheaval and they could end up like Liverpool are now

If it wasn't for the oil Salmond wouldn't get a vote. If only we could reroute the pipelines lol

If you may recall NC,s interview with Solent in the early days of ML tenure he said then that the club would not be left torn apart if a manager left. The club would have a structure that the manager was part of a system that was not reliant on one man. Pardew was the manager at the time. It is per pertly sound planing that if a manager goes to a different club and takes backwoods staff the club carries on in the same vein witha different head coach.how many times have we seen the club build and then the guts been taken out as a manager leaves. It has been painful, and if this way stops this then we have to build that structure. It is amazing progress at SMS in just 3 years, the foundations are being laid for decades not a one season fix. Therefore the transfers will be done by committee not by one man.it seems sensible, especially if you have a similar mindset all pulling in the same direction. I suspect Jonathan Forte was a player NA pushed for, who pushed for Gaston in the committee It is hard to say, but the days of HR picking the players and dealing with agents etc is gone.
-
I think that there is a lot of nonsense going on about NC ,it is the same stuff as When RL was here. Your stuff maybe true but it is hurting the club by propagating the unrest
-
. To a degree it is the players fault, but the manager makes the team selection. To change the keeper yet again, and not play the only real goal threat is bad management.
-
thank god he listened to him when he wanted Jonathan Forte
-
Just saw his sky interview.he seemed deflated but not beaten. To have to watch that smug BIg Sam after was galling.he knew he had got out of jail and loved mentioning that they were 10points ahead of us now
-
The fact that RL,who seems to be the only player who has adapted to the PL is either subbed or on the bench. He causes the opposition problems and it has been a disgrace the points lost by subbing him.I will never accept that we would have lost had RL stayed on against MAn u. The confidence just a point in that game would have given would be very telling.NA yes the live and die by your decisions, it seems you are reckless with your job, perhaps BOlton or BUrnley seem a good future
-
why not Curbishly? He and Les Reed worked well together at Charlton, with the same football style that NC seems to want
-
The defence could be sorted short term.there must be players out there to add steel and experience. Curbishly would play the right way
-
Surely with Reids background it will be Curbishly
-
Adkins seems to have lost the plot.to not play the talisman every game is a madness we can't afford. To change the keeper yet again and unsettle the defence needlessly is reckless. At this time I cannot see us getting as many points as Derby did .. It is galling but Big Sama football is just right for the PL

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
OldNick replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Sadly MLT is easily led by the nose and is not that savvy in the world of business. Just because somebody can kick a ball well it does not mean that he is gifted in the wider world. Personally I believe he is rightfully allowed to his views but that shouldn't be at the cost of the club he says he loves. It seems there are people around who are happy to peddle hearsay and rumour. The stories of NC picking the team, buying players etc are the same nonsense we had under RL. Yet again fans with little brain take it on as chapter and verse and make the Chinese whispers bigger. There are stirrers around and so we should be aware -
Isn't FP a grade 2 listed property? I'm sure the entrance would be able to be integrated into a developments design, but that must inhibit the developers a bit

well put, why do people keep trying to destabilise the club. These are people who who we have adored over the years and are now hurting us as we are torn both ways.
