    Dubai Phil

it takes all types. Phil is a decent and generous person. He kindly got me a signed picture of Lee W******d to give to a friend as a gift. His constant talk of his lifestyle is not just bragging but many people like to hear/read about it. He also had some very good contacts when we were close to admin/takeover. This forum is becoming pretty dull again, many posters have left and so lets not lose another.
  2. you should be ashamed of such a factually incorrect post......there's no way a woman would wish Ho to go to bed with her , unless she wanted to be bored to sleep.
  3. they had their chance of investment with Pompeys Russians. They turned the opportunity down and whilst history may show it was wise not to take their money, I doubt EM is a better owner. 5m invested at Bournemouth would have gone a lot further than the same at pompeys overpaid squad.I feel EM thought he was Mr Bournemouth, he enjoyed the good days of being cheered and really can't take it they have turned on him.
  4. Gunter was one of Wales most effective players against England the other night and he was up against Fox, as well as derbyshire. both are mobile and of decent quality
  5. Lenny Henry Harry Hall Amanda Holden Jedward Kerry Katona and all those so called celebs who get their living by being in the mags David Dickenson and all of the other so called antique experts on the TV reality programmes, who really know SFA, the list can go on and on
  6. Many players who seem to be at the end of their careers have been been fantastic for us in the past. Mick Channon ,Worthington, Ball etc If JB came back determined to get fit and now should be less of a 'Iam' may be a decent player for us.
  7. if you listened to the forum interview, thy haven't got 1.4m in the back but 400k the rest is due in the next year or so from transfers in.
  8. at the same time why not tell us about, about the Chinese consortium, the stadium starting, the fact that you were not in massive debt, the 15k s/t sales, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
  9. lets hope we get some new players in the Jan window. My head says 7-12 my heart top 4. Poyet has yet again played the transfer window well. Brighton WHU , Leicester are threats
  10. Davis Crouch Marsden etc came here and fans were underwhelmed, many after reading the boards of the club they came from. He may be gash but lets give him a chance. i hope we have secured a price we can purchase him for if he does well.
  11. but it is not. We are being run as a commercial operation and many of the decisions are Lowelike, business first. The Liebherrs dont need investment, money is not a problem for them.I am happier to have them own the club than the Askhams/Lowes of the world. We are a professional club and in time I hope will be the model other clubs look at. I feel fans are starting to feel sick of the way football is going and starting to vote with their feet in the PL, in time the clubs will have to run like businesses (excet for the clubs with billionaire owners who are happy to fund them)
  12. FF if the club has earned 50k then i suggest you have not done badly. I assume it is from books about Saints and so the best place to sell them is at a Saints shop. A good bit of business both sides.
  13. Nothing worse than kicking a man when he is down, oh you are after someone who would. Any club who will by a player like Barton has no morals , and so Im happy to have NC guide us through the cesspit of football its managers , agents and players. IMO NC is ruffling feathers because he is trying to deal properly and all the old school people don't like it as they are not getting such good deals for themselves.
  14. shows the suns influence on us. It may in time make us look at global warming differently
  15. this was not the first boycott, and there was real discontent and division. I dont know when the publicised boycott started but it was there for a long time before the lad organised a march. I spent years debating about Lowe and co. Our fans have boycotted before the Lowe era, if you want to really get your tissues out go back to when Branfoot was manager and the fans boycotted then. i think we had a crowd of 11k at that time. Your fans are not boycotting, they are JCLs and only joined in when you were buying top internationals and you were a PL club. You were a backwater club for decades and only in the last few years when the dodgy owners came in have you raised your profile. I still believe you will do ok this season as you still are paying high wages compared to your income.Saints have had a long time to build the fanbase and that is why we command big crowds, had you stayed in the top division for decades you may well have the bigger fanbase, it didnt happen and we took over and built on it
  16. there was heavy snow, the A36 was closed as it was nearly impossible to get over Pepperbox hill. That would have stopped many to get to the game, i know it stopped us. The same would have been from other directions as well
  17. Angola!!! well that makes it better then. Another country that had a senseless and corrupt war.Shameful. Personally I dont think the Pompey fans have any control over their owners, I wouldn't with us, but I would be ashamed how the club got to where it was and would not then brag about it. Slowly the penny is dropping with nations football fans , they are now waking up to the disgrace the club is and there are fewer who look on you as a good football club. You are tied y your loyalty to the club that you grew up with, I understand that, but to trumpet how great they are is not so great. You have had 6 or 7 years of success built on very dubious foundations, you got lucky and lived the dream, just stop squealing now you have to pay something back (poor wording for Pompey)
  18. I was not aware that he didnt want to join us.
  19. Blackpool were also a PL club that loaned him last season. The club should do a straight swap with Gorkks
  20. As for our current squad, I think by the end of the window we will have 20 players and if they have to be loan players or bench / squad fillers then so be it because I DO NOT want to see a repeat of players signing on 15-20k a week and us taking a gamble and ending up yet again in the same place in 2-5-10 years time, enough is a enough FFS ,end quote I see the irony on that post Mero
  21. Lol it is not an attack on saints fans, it is how I saw my actions now on reflection.
  22. Lol senile old fool, you are not wrong there. You miss the point , and so perhaps you and me are a pair of senile old fools
  23. Thanks Bletch, exactly what i was trying to convey. The Dell was going to be demolished, there was going to be an auction to sell the seats etc. The mob took over that day and i saw even the seats in the dug out being carried away. It was not our property and could be seen as looting. Normal decency was left behind as people ripped out the seats anyway the could. You are right that perhaps (not excusing it in anyway) that some may have been dragged into the looting in London etc, who would never normally do so
  24. SM it does not compare, but I was trying to convey (badly as usual) that in the mass frenzy of watching my fellow fans ripping up the seats as well, i did involve myself in something that was a kind of looting as the authorities did nothing to stop it and I joined in. I would put myself as a normal decent citizen, but I lost sight of what i was doing and the wrong. Iam totally against the looters but perhaps it showed that some of us can be drawn into these things, and whilst it would be seen as different, in a way I was robbing from my loved one and so may be seen as worse in a funny kind of way.
  25. well we didn't have a flag put on our seats to wave, with the slogan don't forget to bring it to the next game. That surely would have brought our attendance up
