  1. there are massive profits for companies fitting solar panels, the new double glazing con.
  2. IMO she was the greatest PM since Churchill. It is OK for the trendy lefties to throw their arms up.If you were there in the 70's where Britain was the laughing stock of the world, the trade unions had too much power and a few union leaders had the country by the short and curlies something had to give.Ok, it was pretty hard what was done, but it got the ground right for our economic rise and the standard of living to grow for the vast majority of people. We had to modernise and somebody needed to grasp the nettle. Maggie had the mettle to do so. I feel utter contempt for Blair and Brown and co who have pulled the wool over the poor working mans eyes and shafted them, in the name of the Laabour party, do not believe that they are not the reason we are in the state we are in now. Not Maggie Thatchers doing. I dont wish for them to die, and find it shameful that people are looking forward to Her death, pathetic
  3. HOT PRESS Sven accepted offer to be Pompey manager, that was after he was told there were loads of Nancy's in Portsmouth
  4. Spurs never has been a local derby and they would never see an intense rivalry with us, we would be well down their list of big games. We had a fall out during GH's reign but that is it. Thinking Spurs and us have an intense rivalry would be similar to us and Bristol or Ipswich.
  5. you keep to your Ikea c### that will last for 1 yr or so and leave the better things that last for generations to others. These are real green items and everytime people people bang on about global warming remember about the throw away furniture of today and how that is effecting the world
  6. It's a 19th c. comb-back Windsor chair. Circa 1800-30 The legs are a bit plain, you would normally expect them to be rig turned. Just gently wax it, as it looks fairly un-touched? The legs are similar to the type you get on cricket tables, rustic charm. As for the bow chest, send me a picture and I will give you a heads up, you know how to contact me. Nick
  7. Police fired three shots during the disturbances at Dale Farm They are delighted to have gone home with a goldfish a cuddly toy and a blown up hammer
  8. He doesn't look well
  9. Lol and of course the last governement came out with flying colours. Power corrupts and sadly if you put 500 people in a room , many have dubious backgrounds whatever colour their politics
  10. the scummers thing was used by both sets of fans for decades. It is only recently that Skates has come into play as I think NI started saying we should call them a different name. It was a bit schoolplayground when both sets of fans were singing scummer to each other, not that the new way is much different.Scummer reminds me of junior school when lads would try and think of a name to shout at a rival, that sounded rude but didnt want to use an expletive in case the dinner lady told you off.
  11. I dont understand the posts about the atmosphere. I was listening on Solent and the support sounded magnificent and was commented by the commentators a few times. It may be where you were stood you couldnt hear the noise generated, I thought at first it was the home fans the noise was so load.
  12. I wonder what compensation deal they got. No doubt Ho will come on and tell us what his mate at the club said they got.
  13. his best results as a manager are when he has Joe Jordan with him. He didnt bring him to us when he left Pompey but he did bring that clown Bond. The rest is history. Joe Jordan is the man who gives HR the best advice
  14. his eyesight is failing, he couldnt see how Van der Vaart handled the ball sunday.' It hit the apex of his shoulder' Lol
  15. I assume they hoped that the club shop would take some money. If it was only £2 a ticket ,it raised 8k before any expenses! to fly the team over and hotels would have eaten much of the money if not all. Crazy but that is Pompey for you.
  16. The DNA evidence was rejected , his was on the girls bra strap and hers on the murder weapon. She is a great actress and her speech in court turned the decision in her favour. I believe there is more to her involvement than meets the eye. She can go on and live a comfortable life and the riches will pour in, the victims family are left with a sense of injustice and sadness at their loss. If the girl is innocent then fine, but I dont believe so. As for a poster making out how great our justice system is , could not have followed the joke of how the Pompey saga was dealt with.
  17. Did the players and entertainment turn up? I went to Silverspoons atr Wembley organised by the owner of a Fansite, and no players turned up and it was a disaster. Thank heavens the club did not attach themselves to that do as it would have harmed their image, and at the same time not have any control over the actions of the organisers. I think the club is looking after its reputation, and if it cocks up it only has it self to blame not 3rd parties. I am quite impressed by the Saints foundation and can understand why NC does not wish for that to be watered down by other charities trying to use the club to enhance its profile. Im certain the ex -Saints is a fabulous charity but it is independant and so should follow that path.
  18. we still need 3 quality players through the spine of the team. KD should never have been caught so far ut for the first, although the central defender should have sorted it before then. The 2nd!!!! Too much is expected of Connolly, he started well this season but age and fitness will catch up on him. There is no pace up front and so the defences are comfortable. LB is not the answer and neither is Forte. We havent used the loan window and our good start is papering over the cracks.I hope we can get on track quickly, Watford are a team with pace and youth , take them lightly at our peril.
  19. And how many s/t 's did you sell that season? It is quite plausible IMO that many of the worlds football associations desperately did not wish for Pompeys dirty washing to be laundered (poor wording lol) in public. All those foreign players coming in large amounts of money moving around and 130m debt (even your own fans can't see where the money went). Who knows where corruption spreads to, afterall who believes FIFA at the top is clean?
  20. Mick Channon got loads of stuff thrown at him when he returned for Man City.He was warming up and the fans started singing his name, he turned to give them a wave only to be bombarded with dogs abuse, lol
  21. that is the whole thing, I suggest that most clubs fans (88 out of 92)would take what they have had. They have had lifetime memories and will talk about them to their grave. Many have had the good days and now don't bother going, but can brag away forever. Fans like Mack etc I assume will be there in the bad as well as good. If Pompey were liquidated tomorrow , you can't take their experiences away, that is why I am unhappy about it all, they not only spun the wheel and lost everything, they got their chips back. It is all wrong and they never got their real deserved punishment. If any of their former employees gets pulled for wrongdoing, it seems to me that they will be allowed to say that it is a different company and nothing to do with them. That is what the 2 Russians were alluding to IMO, they have been assured that any wrongdongs will not be levelled at the new company.
  22. clubs would be alerted to the success of NA. His behavior when he joined us shows he would not leave easily and without thought for his employers. I suspect we are a fantastic job and if we go up why leave? I doubt any of the big 4 would be after him, anyway in time we could well be in the upper reaches of the Pl and so even less reason for him to leave.
  23. hopefully this works
  24. what about Keegans for us in the 80's?
