  1. Will NC sanction us going to watch?
  2. Lol, that was just off the top of my head, and if leaking a goal against Exeter is the same as costing the nation World Cup qualification...... I was making the point that all keepers are known for mistakes, their mistakes are costly, but it seems some on here expect us to field a keeper that would be the best to ever have played. I will happily say if KD has made a bad error, but he also has made some match winning saves add to that how he gets blamed for goals like Boro's 2nd is comical.
  3. I dont doubt he has great love for the club. Iam someone who paid 800 for one of his shirts and named our dog after the great man and so i hardly am sceptical about how good he was for us, a very great footballer and a man who did much for us in his playing days. As i had posted earlier a fan like myself would need to have a lot done for me to try and rock the boat so publicly, what would it take for you to hurt the club?
  4. i suspect you should look in the mirror, there haven't been any polls to have me banned. It could be pointed out as petty as a long drawn out list of posts deciding whether someone was correct about whether something was a charity or not. The fact was UM pahars was correct and the ex saints were a charity, MLT has always stated he was a Spurs fan due to his regard of GH. There is no doubt he has a great love for SFC and the media portray him as a saints fan but i would not say his blood runs red and white like mine does
  5. no as you love to do, point out the fact.
  6. will this mean Sullivan and Gold can sel Upton Park for development and erase the Hammers debt. I assume they will pay rent for the OLYMPIC stadium
  7. red and white runs through all Spurs fans veins does it!! MLT is a great man but I wish he would draw a line under the pettiness and be above it all
  8. time does fade the memory. Shilts was a great keeper for us, can you recall the one where he ran out to the touchline and missed a header for WHU to score, the infamous Polish goal that knocked us out of a World cup , how he put the ball down not looking behind him for the attacker to just take it and roll it into the net (3rd 4th play off game in WC) and of course not taking maradonna out when the midget out jumped him to handle the ball. i would call some of those pretty major.
  9. another lot with apparent dodgy links. I still cant see why anyone would want to buy them
  10. Lewis is wanted by PL clubs. KD made 2 terrible howlers against QPR and Preston at SMS. This after taking the blame for Sunderlands demise in the PL. Funny how the keepers always to blame when a team lets in shedloads of goals but the defenders are let off. You like MS I think he is a negative player who slows any of our attacks down, that is football. I believe KD gets a load of unfair stick and some of the nonsense about coming for the ball is unreasonable. I agree that there are occasions when he could take the ball but with that comes risks. His first priority is shotstopping, that is what wins you games, not his kicking or speed out with the ball. If he throws the ball out and the defender is robbed for the opposition to score who gets the blame? many times he is given suicidal backpasses and has to kick to touch, who gets the blame? I understand where you come from as I never rated Paul jones but he did make some wonderful saves, but i was always worried when he played.
  11. I am all for the 2 sides making up but i suggest MLT sitting alongside FB slagging off NC on national TV is not the best way of doing it. MLT is a hero to the majority of Saints fans, as a businessman and judge of a situation i dont think he is so good. Sadly i doubt there will ever be a truce, and whilst it looked for a time we would be united as a fan base having heroes like Matt sniping away the divisions will stay open.
  12. So do you think Liebherr just took his money and stashed it in the bank after he sold his first crane? No these people are driven, and go on to employ thousands of people who in turn also spend and pay tax. They dont just stash their money in a bank everytime they make a profit. If somebody earns 15k a year and only spends 14k they leave 1k in the bank , if somebody earns 150k a year and spends 140k they put 10k in the bank and so on. I would love the lifestyle of many of the worlds bankers and industrialists but i was not bright enough, lucky enough, prepared to risk everything or prepared to work hard enough to be in their position. I abhor Sir Phillips greens of the world and would make laws against the way they avoid tax, but the concept of a low tax economy that brings foreign companies into our country to provide wealth and jobs that would go elsewhere is sound. If we as a nation never had the entrepreneurs over the centuries we would be a nothing nation, no NHS no Welfare, No social system but like Ireland (pre the EEC), Albania and all the other poor nations with its inhabitants just scraping along with no support. The wealth creators in our nation are more important than and most in our society.
  13. I respect your opinions but am surprised that you expect so much from a lower league goalkeeper. Did you watrch Brentfords Lee the other night? It was comical how he tried to come and punch, Cech likewise. Richard wright made so many errors he was dropped by Ipswich and now loaned out, the days of a keeper coming out and taking the ball time after time like the good old days are gone, as the attacking side know how to block the keepers as well as the ball moving in its flight. To me if you know the keeper is not coming surely the centre halves know they must go for the ball. I didnt see that you blamed KD for the 2nd goal and I suspect you agree he was not at fault for that one. I feel he could have done better for the first, but the ball did stay low and not bounce as would be normally expected. I would respect the decision for Bart to be played, but I do not have the same confidence. None of KD's detractors came back and answered my question, whether they believed we would have got a point if they had scored when their player was clean through. had we gone 1 down would we have got back into it? Nobody can answer it but i do believe we may have struggled
  14. FFS the banks can move abroad when they like and avoid tax. i have no time for the greed the banks showed in the past, but iam happy that they produce wealth and taxes that keep our economy going. The NHS produces no income for the nation, if we have no wealth providers we have no NHS. When will the Guardian readers understand that it is only through UK PLC making money will we provide for the weak. The oil and gas revenues have been wasted on our social system, instead of investing in the infrastructure of the nation we spent the money on welfare. You of course look after the weak but labours excesses wasted so much of our resources. The Tories will do so as well. Selling off the forests will not make much difference to the majority of us, there is no way that there will not be strings attached and that the more accessible forest will still be there for the man in the street, but i doubt many of us have ever really gone out into the forests apart from a picnic at Brockenhurst, except for a few Guardian readers of course. We have to duck and dive and make the UK the best place for companies to invest and so create jobs, making us Tax competitive will be a major way in doing so. I will be a victim as i'm not rich enough to emigrate to a tax haven, but as i have done all my working life i will pay my fair share and get on with it.
  15. they might not be jokers. I wouldn't count on them being dud. I hope their interest does not materialise
  16. ...as in your claim that he will be as good as Bale. Not that he is not going to be decent
  17. 3m now and with adds on may be a better deal than 10m now and no add ons. i doubt the club will have much say on the final figure, as if you may have missed NA's interview where he said they were not going to get involved in a bidding war but what is best for Ox (to me that says the agents/parents have made that clear, they decide) I think Bale is better than the other 2. I remember seeing him on his debut and coming away knowing we had unearthered a massive star, I will wait to decide about Ox.
  18. the more I see Matty's behavior the more I'm glad he did not become chairman. I wonder if the old pals would be more in attendance than fans. Matty please keep to your punditry and leave politics alone as you do seem a tad naive and easily used by so called friends. Matt has been a true legend on the pitch, and I hope long term that is not ruined by foolhardy attacks on the club
  19. Is this true? I suspect you may get a bit of grief about that
  20. Lol i do hope you are joking.....then again
  21. it is about opinions. At present my priority is for us to get promotion, to expect Ox to make a great impact on that will be something. IMO he needs to be taken out of the firing line for a few games. His last 3 performances have been below par and Im tired of hearing all the hype about him by the media. His oace got us a penalty the other night but those direct runs he was making seem to have disappeared as teams are now doubling up on him. I believe my thoughts about taking the money and using it on someone we already know can gets goals and results is pertinent. Ox will be leaving us, we may get another 5m for him but that will be offset if we fail in the promotion chase. It may be that Adkins decisions not putting pace up front will cost us, CMS at Boro showed us what a pacey forward can do, Antonio has that with power (Nguessan as well) I really dont think Ox at present has it(power). He will be a fine player but I'm a team man and feel the whole is more important than the individual. NC has made the decision to keep him, but that doesnt stop me wondering what if.
  22. I rarely if ever dismiss a player on his first game or appearance. It is very harsh to do so, I just am doubtful, not saying he is rubbish (yet). He did look lost and had no touch, but I will give him time, but i felt N'Guessan deserved another run out instead of this new player as N'guessan caused trouble with his power and strength, something that the boro players had already shown problems with RL. I support the players as much as most and had many disagreements with people when players like Crouch and Marsden first played.
  23. You may be right although from the little we saw against Peterboro i doubt it about the last signing.
  24. as a fan it would take quite a lot for me to run to the newspapers to try and hurt the club. In the past couple of years some players and managers who have graced the club have been chipping away. They have IMO had their noses put out by the fact they dont get their freebies anymore.
