Once synchronised, it will become a sea of blue and white with ‘1898’ written across it. Is this part of the days celebrations 'guess the crowd next season competition?'
-
Sue considering it was NickH who had the Trademark on 'Pompey will get away with it' not NickG the imposter lol NickH changed his username as he was tired of being confused with the imposter NickG

Prime Minister Cameron blocks Browns bid to head up the IMF
OldNick replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
Lol, and with gold at a record high no doubt Brown would sell it all at once, tell the markets he was doing so and the price would drop by half. The man just has no sense. BTW it was not rocket science to see what was going to happen (not the collapse of Lehman) but the general disaster that was building. Even posters on here were warning of the nonsense. -
Lol

only what i was told when we were supposedly in for him.. I'm not in the clubs negotiating team and so can only go on that info.
-
well when we were balking at the price over 1m , i suggest Norwich would have jumped at it then. It was at the end of the window when Norwich apparently tried to pay a lot more. Therefore it would be fair to assume we were in gfor him before they were. This is not the CMS thread by the way, and he is not the only player we may have got to strengthen.
-
No but we were a good month ahead of them in our interest. During that time he became more prominent. Clubs watch loads of players doesnt mean they will go and try and buy.
-
Maybe but it is something that could be aimed for if the 5 year plan was to be achieved.
-
As i say when i heard we were after him the figure we were baulking at was in the region of 1.2m. That was quite a time before Norwich. Of course Norwich may have been on the case and biding their time and may have gazumped us ,
-
No not for that much. When we were in for him the hype was low key and i was told he was in the £1.2m area, Antonio for £1m would have been another who cut it already in this league , his power and strength gave us an option that we could do with now.
-
where have i said those players are free? I think i recall that the club were building a squad that would not only get us up this league but will then go on to get us up again from there. Im not sure those are in that category. Signing a bit of quality to not only assure us promotion but to kick on from there seems to be an odd opinion on this forum.

Anyone got a magnifying glass i can borrow?
-
Obviously, but thanks for your well balanced reply it must have taken you ages to spell all that out
-
I agree but Prutton has been her before and did SFA apart from assault the lino in an important match, and Parkin is just just a lump. There are some decent players amongst the rest though
-
and sadly I know you are not kidding you would
-
Jon Parkin?????? Lol David Prutton!!!!! i know we all have differing opinions but ....
-
i dont know their squad but I doubt Fergie would accept taking a third choice forward and a kid for the future as back up to the all important promotion that we NEED this season. If we fail to go up how many of our 'star' players do you think we will still have next season? it is paramount to gto up and so no insurance is too much now.
-
i thought it was Alf Ramsay you had nurtured
-
the good thing is that SFC gets some recognition. I cant recall LM having much to do with the playing side when Bale was there.I thought he was more into the corporate entertaining part.
-
F'sure I was and now we are down to the bare bones, I would have got a shedload of players in F'sure
-
i dont care about Brightons squad as they seem to have been 10 points clear the majority of the season. Had they been in our position they may well of dipped into the market as well as getting Noone. We got our own No-one but not the Plymouth one. I wish for the cards to be fully stacked in our favour, i truly hope that my concerns are not well founded and we cruise to promotion. The weekend will tell us a lot.
-
yep and another 5 in case they get injured. of course they all must not in any way be a target man to cover for the most important player we have up front. They have alos to be injury prone and at the start or end of their careers
-
Adkins mind games did not work, and now it will be used by brighton to wind them up to play hard against us. Our squad has the chance to prove NA right and so should play well to beat them. Personally Id take a point now. perhaps we should spend the majority of the gtame wasting time , much like they did when they came here. They were petrified to go over the halfway line that night.
-
Yep I was happy having Chaplow in. If RL gets injured what then?
-
you should stop your arrogance and stop calling people morons. You may be happy having Gobern and players who are at the end of their careers and injury prone holding our hopes of promotion others are not. As for your embarrassment that we have spent a lot Lol. I have no embarrassment as Im sure Man Utd Liverpool Barcelona etc dont when they wipe the floor with other clubs for decades. You may rest on your HOPE that the reserves can hold their nerve at the most important part of the season, but i dont believe we should have to be in the position. If the club had spent to ensure promotion (after all Im sure many have told me on numerous occasions that we are wealthy), getting in players of the quality that will hold us in good stead if we do go up to the next level. We have been crying out for cover right through the spine of the team. So before you point your finger calling people who have rightful concerns about being a moron you should perhaps look in the mirror
