  1. Perhaps, but do you not think that sometimes the players should actually think 'I need to improvem y strength,' and then ask how to do so
  2. not easy but they had massive amounts of luck in that run. A last minute own goal at Coventry when the pillock jumped with his own player and headed past his keeper. Add the goal that wasnt given against brum. His league record was poor and it would beinteresting to see if their points inproved after his arrival...although that couldnt be hard
  3. Loan is the only way forward if he is to come back.It would be a nonsense to pay stupid wages again in L1 For me he is too slow even this league. Id love ot be proved wrong. He lost his way when there was talk of him being an England ?south african player for this WC
  4. his legs are no bigger than the shaft of a wooden spoon,
  5. Grant's record is what since he got to Pompey. It is all on the back of a fortunate cup run.He arrived when they were bottom and they stayed there Lolo
  6. We have a relaxed attitude, but I rely on pride and so last year my side were exemplary. Just something you feel you can do some kick about in. I did not do all the pre match running a exercises Phils team did as with 30 mins to go its a bit late to try and get yourself fit. Stretching and a bit of gentle warming up, followed by who can kick the ball hardest in the general direction of the goal and row z. Frankly the manager has little input except having the authority of pushing into the front of the queue for sandwiches. I was fortunate to have a superb team of characters who gelled and made my life so easy. Fabulous to a man and I know the same can be said this season. A lot of my team are still there (although Steve knicked a couple, b'stard) and they will make the new players feel at home in our unit. There is some building work being done in our changing rooms, the showers mainly but Im reliably informed it still will be fantastic.
  7. Why? surely there are plenty of decent players who are out there
  8. As much as I want this to happen, I cannot see anyway the HMRC will be allowed to do so. Their stance softened the moment Brown opened his mouth about 'this historic football club etc' The media inthe main think Pompey are innocent (the fans and players) and will bleat on how wrong it is.
  9. shows how dim a lot of them are, after insulting one of their own they still voted the mp in. Lol That shows how entrenched the support is in those regions. I have to give it to Labours party political broadcast on the eve of the election. Having celebrities post their votes and then staring at the camera, and showing their disapproval of any thought of changing sides. Very clever and got into the soul of a lot of Labour voters who may have been thinking of voting a way their family would not have ever done in the past. The all had a look of dont you dare think about it.
  10. Im not sure was that before you told us about holding an umbrella for Woods ex misses....................................................................a modern day Sir Francis Drake............ Charlie Drake more likely
  11. I think Lord Triesman has got his info wrong and it was not the Spanish and Russians but the Sandeaters trying to sort the Forum match result
  12. Then if this is the case POmpey have got away with it. I suspect the majority of footballl fans would take a few seasons pain for the journey they have had the past few seasons. it is outrageous
  13. knock knock who's there? Avram Avram who? Av Rammed my car into 6th gear and I'm f'ing off to West Ham
  14. I have held back with the Pompey will get away with it, as I felt that nothing would happen pre the cup final. Now that is over the next 3-4 weeks should be very interesting.Phil did say this was likely to run to May a couple of months bck. Let's hope justice is now served so i dont have to put up the statement anymore
  15. I didn't make you Mike it was your outrageous attempts last match that did it. Anyway starting to look forward to meeting up again with the old and new faces
  16. Wade, we were overspending as nation before the banking crisis. The debt is not all about the banks. Now we have a new government in they may well bring out into the open the hidden debt. Itr will be like PFC, at first it is 35m then 70 m and before long it doubled. We had a credit card government and we all have to pay towards the interest
  17. He should never been given the job in the first place. A labour lord who was useless. Who appointed him? He has overseen Pompeys progress in the cup and done nothing about it
  18. I think it cost a fiver last season. No tickets sold, as they are sale in the Pompey club shop and so will only take cash . Big walk up on the night.......well about 150 or less i might have added a nought by mistake there. Very likely the beer will sell out as my team get the pre match preparations going . The corners wont be open as Health and Safety will not allow it due to JustMikes passing and Foxy's shooting that are deemed too dangerous for people in those areas. The pre match entertainment is watching the away teams faces as Phil carries in 20 photo albums of his golfing days for them to look through. He will be asking questions after they have trawled through them to make sure all have been concentrating. Half time entertainment will be provided by the in fighting in the crowd as home and away fans have not been segregated.Tear gas had to be used last time to stop the fighting
  19. very disappointed Kayne McClaggon has been released. I hope he makes his way back ,but perhapos he is susceptable to injury.Definately his pace has suffered from the long lay off. Good luck to Simon Gillette. No doubt Doncaster will take advantage of his availibility
  20. That's good news, Im sure the away team can't wait to flick through 20000 photos of you on a golf course, or dancing at a music event. I might e-mail FF and get him to make sure you get an internal as you come through customs. I will insist that he makes sure the officer has road diggers hands the size of frying pans. Lol I would not risk the BA run and stay with Emirates as they are bound to change theior minds or have booked you on a flight that stops about 20 times.
  21. You dont think the miners strike and the way the country was brought to its knees didn't effect me? The workers were cynically used for political means. That is not what I believe unions were for. I can't help every person in the country I'd love for everyone not to have hardship, but it is not possible, I work and pay my taxes and watch the government and others provide the help for those where needed. Nothing about an 'I'm all right Jack attitude.'
  22. Why use 10 words when you can use 15000 eh Phil My team talk will be quick and straight to the point....a bit like my wedding night. I suggest the away team bring pillows and blankets as they may get cold as Phil starts his third volume of motivational talks to the disinterested.
  23. Typical smarm from you BTF. You demanded an apology from Dune when he dared put a comment about you, but when the boot was on the other foot??? As for the Committee, he is 1 voice in the group and the Labour leaning economist. He is not even part of that group anymore, so what's your point ? The governor took the advice of the sitting group here and now and used his experienced opinion as well
  24. So , it is like one of the coaching staff being heralded above the manager. The coaching staff may have a decent idea but he is not the one selected to really make the decisions. The governor would have used all the info and taken that into account By the way Blanchflower is a labour leaning economist and no doubt put his input into Browns plans and so was always likely to be of a different opinion. The media said it was very unusual for the governor to make such statements.
