  1. Oh just when the managerrubbish had beenpapered over, lets hope he is a better judge than us
  2. I think it is because the abuse he would take.
  3. I wouldn't trust MLT to choose anybody after his debacle when putting forward the people to take the club on
  4. I din't start this thread to give Semmens a kicking as I truly believe he is good at his job, just he made the mistake of selecting the wrong consortium, ok a major mistake but he did it for the right reasons and how they set their plan out.
  5. Hadn't we beaten them at our place, or lingering sores of Paine and the boys kicking them a few times. I do recall reading Johnny Giles and Terry Paine disliking each other a great deal
  6. Yep one of many humiliations in my days being a Saints fan. They were lucky as we couldnt get near them and by the time of the real p-take I think we were demoralised
  7. Are we 100% sure the money isnt leveraged and the club has taken those debts on? My understanding of Dragan is that he is very wealthy, but is he able to splash 100M just like that? We have a squad without a dominant centre back, who clears the ball and everything else or a centre forward who does likewise at the other end. No midfielders who do the dirty work. I am not knocking Lavia or JWP in that but we need scrappers at this time and we dont have a squad equipped for a fight. I so hope I'm wrong but how many are prepared to get the ball in the face to stop a goal. ( I respectfully suggest that the freekick by JWP at St James our players would have ducked, unlike the Newcastle forward)
  8. Thank you for spending time doing that. My first game was watching Saints v Leeds at the Dell I think it was 1968, it may have been 1969. We lost 3-1. Then of course we had the Revie teams, in the main we did quite well against that lot. Bremner and Giles had a real challenge with our 'robust' team lol. Im not going to mention the game that BBC always flag up, now that was taking the........
  9. I do not blame him at all for the footballing side of things as Im sure he has nothing to do with this. It is more whether he regrets putting SR as the preferred bidders at that time
  10. Not just mine.
  11. I would have follwed behind the choice but the thought that he just plays a narrow game, thus Edozie and Orsic , wingers not fitting in, would not be good
  12. I had much admiration of Semmens as I believed he navigated the ship skilfully during Gao's tenure. Hamstrung by the Chinese Government not allowing funds to leave China he did a marvellous job, IMO. I read that when SR bought us, there were others interested with bigger pockets but he felt SR were the right fit. I wonder if he now regrets his choice as he sees the whole project fall around his ears. Jokers, who have used us as some mad experiment. First not getting rid of Ralph when patently he had served his time, then expecting 18-19-20 years olds to hold their own in a real mans world, follow this by NJ experiment, and to compound this try and get JM! Had he had the foresight I suspect SR would not have been given the pick
  13. Scott Parker, please nooooooooo. Talk to Fulham and Bournemouth fans and I doubt you will get one who is positive
  14. I think they were delighted to get rid of ralph?
  15. Does Egg know about this??
  16. I recall when Harry first came he said then that we had a very quiet dressing room. No real characters. Seeing the abysmal defending and own goals is another reminder of that season
  17. Perhaps they were testing the water to fans reaction as well??
  18. I think Janny B but the other 2 can be useful.
  19. I think its important the players have a bit of input. If they were against him from the start then it was always going to be difficult, especially after the last escapade. Half the fan base were also of the same opinion it seems.
  20. Could you give us your thoughts on how he 'saved' you from relegation last season It seems his interviews and touchline antics seem to impress a certain type of fan. His failures elsewhere seem to be brushed over, to be fair he did do ok at one former club.
  21. He met the owners! Like meeting the Fockers I would have thought
  22. 'In the end he just felt having met the owners the project was not right for him' Alex Crook
  23. oohhhh please no
  24. Sorry have you morphed into Beckham or Rooney with typing like that 😃
  25. Bielsa with the young players while thise season plays out but also giving Selles the back up. I think thats what Bielsa wanted for Everton???
