We lacked energy and passion in the first half and it was no surprise when a well organised and passing Hull took the lead. Two friends either side of me at half time - one said for the first time this season he was worried we would not get it back in the second half - other said we lacked the balance some one like Chaplow gave us. De Ridder on for the second half and we seemed to up our passing game. Great win against a good side. Not worried about West Ham. Automatic promotion is what we want and them beating teams just below both of us has to be a good thing.

Saints 3 Brighton 0 - Post Match Chat
Weston Saint replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
First half pretty even with neither side penetrating. Second half, particularly after the sending off we played arrogant football. Irony of the day came when Guly replaced and Brighton player complained he was walking off too slowly! -

An interesting quote from the pedg link The U.K.’s Financial Services Authority denied Snoras permission to operate in Britain because the bank’s executives withheld information, calling the tactic “an ongoing pattern of behavior by institutions controlled by Mr. Antonov” in a February 2009 statement.

Never ask for top tips on a football forum

And we did not owe the tax man anything so the public purse was not robbed.

Empty vessels make most noise The colour should provide a clue

We are at or near the top of the curve. We much make sure we try to climb to new heights and we must therefore re visit our business plan and set new challenging targets. We should not be looking for cover. We should look to bring in players (in some of the positions) that are better than what we have. The players they replace will be our cover.

Have to say that is so sad. My thoughts are with him at this time particularly his wife Jade. Football fades to insignificance.

Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif found guilty of conspiracy to cheat and conspiracy to accept corrupt payments. To be sentenced on Thursday and face a maximum of 8 years! Mohammad Amir pleaded guilty to all charges before trial started but that had to be kept from the jury. Sends out a massive message.

These are the home games I missed the last two seasons because they fell on the first Tuesday and I was unavailable. They are the only home league games I have missed in the last 2 years. 1st Dec 2009 Wycombe - Won 1-0 2nd Feb 2010 Huddersfield - Won 5-0 2nd Nov 2010 Dagenham - Won 4-0 8th March 2011 Yeovil - Won 3-0 (I know 2nd Tuesday but I had an important meeting that night as well!) 5th April 2011 Charlton - Won 2-0 You guessed it, will not be there tonight.

Really, a Burnley side who are 3rd in the form table at present? Good players do not only score goals they also make goals for others. None of the three come near to our front 3! Ours have 11 the three "targets" have 3 Poor sides or not our three would get in ahead of these players. I appreciate we need another forward, particularly with Barnard injury problems but as impact players only in my opinion
-
Lambert has 9 in the league, Do Prado & Connolly 5 Lallana 4 Our suggested targets Maynard 4, Rodriguez 3, Sharp 2. So our front 3 all have a better record than our supposed targets who are the "stars" of their respective teams. One of the 3 would be a good impact player perhaps but no more than that in my opinion!

in relation to Dan Seaborne incident
Weston Saint replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Saints
Crown Prosecution Service are satisfied the man used "reasonable force" when he pushed the footballer and accept he acted in self defence. Police also rule out any action against Seaborne over the incident adding that there was no counter allegations lodged by the suspect and he had not been harmed. Looks like a blue line has been drawn! -
Hampshire Cricket close season updates

Dawson returns to UK as he could not hack the lifestyle. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/15459519.stm -
I consider the point is that this competition gives clubs a chance to give their fringe players a competative game to develop their talent, keep them interested and gain match fitness. It gives the coaches an opportunity to assess such players and the manager a chance to try different systems in competative format. Ticketing prices across the competition reflect the weaker sides starting. For those supporters who go to these matches, they know we are going to field a weaker side but it gives them a chance to see other players in the team and assess their form and potential. Lower gates at all games reflect this (apart from the staggering 50,000+ at Arsenal last evening). I made a decision before the season started I would not attend Carling cup matches but I certainly do not think they are a waste of time. Disappointed we are out of the competition but glad we did not risk potential injuries to key players by full match exposure when we have two important home games in the next seven days.

Lallana has suffered an injury to the arch of his foot. Scan does not show any major injury and it looks to be a short term problem. He had the same for 3 games last season but carried on with pain killing injections. Barnard said last Tuesday that he expected to be back in training in a week. It is an ankle injury which he has had since last season and it keeps re occurring.

I agree with your assessment.

Good news. Thanks I know he was devistated he could not play against West Ham.

Glenn Delve to leave his Rose Bowl Managing Director position but to remain a consultant to completion of the development of the Hotel and Golf Course. Nigel Gray, Head Groundsman to be Hampshire CC benificiary for 2012 as reward for 22 years service Shahid Afridi signed as our additional overseas player for the T20. Neil McKenzie offered another contract to return but has indicated he may only be available for a couple of months due to family commitments. Simon Jones (signed for 2 years by Glamorgan) joins first teamers Cork and Pothas as leavers. Dawson playing for Mountaineers in Zimbabwe scores an unbeaten 1st class century and takes 7 second innings wickets (but is still on the losing side) Updated news regularly found here http://www.rosebowlplc.com/

Of course there will be the odd seats vacant. It was not a utter and complete sell out. The capacity of SMS is 32689. That is 500+ empty seats
