  1. My understanding from a very good press source is that Pardew knows the score as far as his future is concerned. Another source told me that if a Championship club came in for Pardew he would likely take it. Read between the lines. Pardew's targets are tougher than is made public is my take from this.
  2. Best 11 when all fit Davis (just) Murty - Fonte - Seaborne(because he is a natural left foot)-Harding Lallana - Hammond - Schneiderlin - Puncheon Lambert - Connolly
  3. Just because a Judge gives leave to appeal does not suggest it will succeed. Otherwise why would he make a ruling against Pompey in the first place? It could be that he is aware of the consequences and the importance of his decision and left it open to ratification by a higher court. I was once refused leave to appeal a civil case. My Barristers thought I had a good case in that we felt the Judge had misinterpreted the evidence. A very senior appeal judge considered our application and decided we had a good chance of winning the appeal and granted leave. We went to the appeal court and within 5 minutes we knew it would not be overturned. It is very difficult winning an appeal and I am not at all suprised Pompey diod not appeal. I did not expect them to.
  4. Yes it has been suggested to me that he might play centre right midfield with Lallana on the left. MIGHT was the comment. Nothing was said about transfers in still to come or not. Pat has suggested on this thread that a second bid was made at 12pm Saturday. If so that is after the web site comment. Just may be this is still alive but I am not ITK on this matter
  5. Midfield right to left :- Antonio (Waigo) - Puncheon - Schneiderlin - Lallana is he bet until Hammond is fit.
  6. There is every possibility Puncheon will play centre right in midfield.
  7. Just to put some balance into this Results against 1st-6th W0 D5 L3 7th-12th W1 D3 L2 13th-18th W5 D1 L0 19th-24th W5 D1 L1 We have a little way to go yet
  8. I doubt it very much. We had our target positions and they have been filled. Cortese will not sanction any further. The Dans offer was around the same time as they were negotiating Puncheon, keeping options open. With his signing that closes that option. Think Ward & Seaborne. Same situation applied then, in my opinion
  9. Lallana suffered a hip injury in training on Friday and failed a fitness test Saturday morning. He has been told to rest until Wednesday. He is desperate to play against Exeter next Saturday. There have been no enquiries about him to the club or his agent as at 2:45pm yesterday when I was told all this by his father. He is committed to Saints cause.
  10. Let's just say the first 60 minutes of the game was the worse I have seen this season. We weren't just poor we were bloody diabolical When Waigo came on everything changed. He was by far MOM. Pace, skill, visionary, cross runs totally confusing the opposition. This was not an inspired substitution by Pardew, it was a major mistake he did not start When he came on Schneiderlin started playing because he had an outlet. Holmes started playing because he was inspired by Waigo's movement and space. As for Wotton, he was the poorest player on the pitch and actually caused our midfield to be non existant and provide no service, movement or skill. Fonte and Seaborne were excellent. Looks like we have a great buy in Seaborne. Fonte is of course class. Worried about our midfield but with Puncheon soon to play it can only improve. As for Lallana, injured his hip in training yesterday and failed a medical today. Rested ntil Wednesday and they will look at him. Hopes to be fit for Exeter.
  11. Yes Norton blocked me from accessing saying it was a security risk.
  12. Happy with this. We have now signed a right back, two central defenders, a midfielder with capabilities of playing wide and an attacker. Good business in the window and just what we, as supporters, asked for.
  13. Not a loan. Think of it as a rope to be used to pull us into the playoffs or to hang a certain person if he does not succeed
  14. Agree with this but it is not outlawed so Hampshire have to compete for the best
  15. Good signing. With Dimi and Lumb away at the beginning of the season championship team likely to look something like this Carberry Adams McKenzie Vince Dawson Pothas Ervine Cork Kabir Griffiths Briggs Beham likely to be playing in place of Vince in 1 dayers to start with.
  16. The vultures are no longer circling they are picking at the bones.
  17. Importantly, Saints (Cortese) has entered into a commercial agreement with Radio Solent giving them local media rights. Clearly Cortese has issues with Murray alone and as he is the Editor that affects relationships with the whole paper. I suspect if Murray was removed relationships would return. That said Murray has attempted to talk to Cortese but his recent appointment was cancelled on the day without explanation. Murray continuing to use his paper to fuel this dispute is an error of judgment in my opinion. Cortese is not using the same tactics. He is keeping his counsel
  18. But the previous day http://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/page/MatchPreview/0,,10329~1944159,00.html He was not mentioed as injured.

  20. The article confirms what I had said earlier.
  21. Fitzhugh Fella has nothing against our owners. All he pointed out originally was that Mr Liebherr was not answerable to anyone as no shareholders or other interested parties. He could do whatever he liked. As to Mr Cortese I can tell you from my club contacts that he is well liked as being a fair but very firm man. Pardew is under immense pressure to deliver as are the senior staff in the other parts of the business. Revenue streams from all parts are increasing under his direction. It would be a big loss if he went (assuming the story has any legs whatsoever. It is known he has had a spat with Murray but he has not spoken about it publically. That said I understand from both sources within the club and at the Echo that he has so far not been inclined to meet with Mr Murray to discuss. I am not going to post more on this subject and did not intend to respond to Matthew Le God but it is unfair of other posters to judge FF incorrectly.
  22. I am no supporter of some of the journalism of today. Freedom of the press is fine but sometimes they use that unwisely. I am not a supporter of Mr Murray and I am sure Mr Cortese is doing a good job at SFC BUT why is he (Cortese) not sorting out this spat. Why will he not speak to Murray. It takes two to negotiate and end to this silly issue. If one party refuses to meet the other how can it be resolved? The Echo will lose many friends over their obvious digs at Cortese but if he wont speak to them, how else will this be sorted. Saints need the Echo as much as the Echo needs Saints. SORT IT OUT
  23. I can see this thread coming back to bite us on the bum. We have all the bragging right at present. Money, winning team, increasing gates, progress and no longer the butt of media. We are gaining respect from all quarters. But, if we lose to Pompey in the FA cup a lot of the braging rights will return to them. I would have preferred we go out to any other club but them down the road. This game is so important. We must win. We have the momentum but at present they have a better team.
  24. Barnard cost much more that Saints would have liked.
  25. OK reality check time. First half we were outplayed, pulled out of shape, second to lose ball and too much hoof and poor passes out of defence. Second half we competed more but when we went 2-0 up a few of us looked at each other and agreed it did not reflect the game. Just as well Ipswich failed to penetrate. Looked a bit like Saints of old, pretty football without result. However, a good game and well done to the team. Thought Mills was all over the place in the first half but found his feet and had a very good second half. Thomas did well (what a goal), as did Jaidi but Perry was my man in defence. Played a very intelligent role almost in a sweeper role behind the others. James & Wooton were horrendous. No shape, no bite and no real idea. Lallana had a quieter game but he is carrying a groin strain (has for the last few weeks) and likely to be rested on Tuesday. Holmes had a good game and deserves to have a run in the team on his last few performances. Gillett (who is still trying to sort out his deal with Doncaster but they are not coming up with the right offer) was buzzing when he came on Lambert was his usual self. Worked hard. Barnard looked sharp and as he settles in he will be a good addition. Worked hard tracking back in the second half before he was subbed. Good striker goal from Antonio. Great win but Ipswich showed we still have a long way to go.
