AP is giving the present players every chance to shine.....if they are not able to do so then the weak amongst them will be gone...... simple as that in time...Saints are notoriously slow starters whichever league they are in so this should be no surprise to anyone!
-
Too many dreamers around.........the fact is Saints were close to oblivion a few weeks ago.......... they have started slowly...(so whats new?)...............the new management are aware of the weaknesses within the team and are seeking out players that fit the criteria.....this takes time.........AP has said it will "take time".........so reality ought to click in with people and the first target should be to get out of negative points........this may take until November.......so be it.......but talk of promotion or play offs is dreamworld!!
-
Absolutely no contest........Lambert......
-
Sign up to the cause or move on out!
-
Good riddance...........yet another over rated underperformer that has been weeded out of Saints.........he obviously rates himself more than most others........as usual talks a good game but hardly ever produces on the pitch.........can't see Crystal Palace being a force in the Championship with or without him...........
-
Hopeless overpaid non performer........will be interesting to see how he performs when the real football starts.........
-
The level of panic within some people is staggering..........lets just wait and see what AP wants/needs to do............I'm sure he is well aware of the shortcomings of his squad without being told by people like us that frankly know very little other than wish to squander money on wasters!
-
I don't normally comment but we are still a selling club!!!!

One, maybe 2 of those MIGHT have been worth keeping..........the others.....good riddance! -
To many impatient individuals around...........thank god they are not running my business............give the management TIME!!
-
Almost never win first game of season........therefore 0-2 and reality kicks in that we are adrift by 10 points and badly need a spine to the team
-
He either stays and knuckles down or goes.........if he is not 100% then he should sod off in my view.........Rasiak committed might change my somewhat negative view of him............Rasiak less than 100% doesn't warrant a game frankly
-
Who knows?....its a lottery......... just know it won't be Saints!!
-
Time he called it a day............wonder how much he has cost per minute of time actually on the pitch since he was signed.........just retire and give us all a break!!

How many players do you think we will sign tomorrow?
egreog replied to Ashley Grute's topic in The Saints
AP is still evaluating and getting rid of those who are not 100% committed.........ie a couple more Eastern Europeans will be off shortly............after that he can start to rebuild..........he doesn't need to buy.........3 or 4 p[layers on long term loans will do the trick -
It simply won't happen...........end of
-
If they stay they need to play.......if at least to put themselves back in the "shop window" for January transfers...........they are both overpaid for what they produce.......and presumably the clubs in Championship know that and are steering clear of their wage demands. Wouldn't be surprised if they move back abroad...........the good thing is 3 new players of half decent quality could be brought in on the wages they earn so lets just wait and see
-
It will be bumpy because Saints and turbulence usually fit well in the same sentence........I'm not sure how the first few weeks will go.........either the current crop of players will blossom under AP's leadership or we will shortly find out how weakened the club is by recent departures...........my heart says it will be a good start, but my head tends to expect tough times in August/September
-
If he doesn't want to play for Saints then good riddance to him..........the bottom line is thatAP needs players 100% committed to the cause who give their all week in week out.............I would expect a couple more Eastern Europeans to be on their way shortly on that basis!
-
But he probably will be around......IF he consistently put the effort in people wouldn't be poles apart on their views on him.......he is the sort of player that is liked or disliked because of his demeanour and seemingly lacklustre wanderings around the pitch.......IF he were to put the effort in then I agree he may be worth keeping, but I'm not sure his heart is here, and if so then lets get him off the wage bill and get a couple of options in......frankly I think he thinks he is better than he is!!
-
I think the first few games are gonna be a major reality check on how far things have slipped....I have no doubt that in the long term.......ie by January or February, Saints will be out of the bottom three, but realistically a play off place with the current players is pie in the sky............at least 3 or 4 new faces with grit, determination and a will to win attitude are required to turn this around...........
-
Absolutely right........ Hearts will bring support and will NOT treat as a friendly.......they will want to beat Saints and Plymouth fair and square for Scottish football's sake........ there will not be a friendly approach from them...........be interesting to see how Saints react
-
excellent news......another overpaid underperformer off to somewhere daft enough to meet his inflated wages!!
-
I'm not a fan of Rasiak at all........but IF his attitude is right he MAY do well in this league and score goals.........it is worth a go........personally I don't think it will be much easier for him that in the Championship, but give him a run and see how he gets on. Its very interesting that he didn't do particularly well at Bolton or Watford, certainly not well enough for Watford to consider his wage value for money. I think Pardew needs to get him working harder and fitter..........that way he will give himself the best chance of making it, or at least put himself in the "shop window"
-
This has got to be a stabilising season to remain in League 1.........it will take time to rebuild and I wouldn't be surprised if still in relegation places at christmas, and maybe around half way by end of season...........I just think the current crop of players are pretty weak and disjointed and fans need to have a good deal of patience for the upturn to start to show
