Better for Pompey supporters?

Interesting Thread Title. Guess the missing letter. (surely not)

Re-read my post. I did not say that you are not entitled to your opinion, but that your statements are prone to unqualified exaggeration. For example, although I agree that Forest dominated nearly all of the second half, they could not have dominated it entirely otherwise we could not have scored and held on to win.
-
That was Hypo who incorrectly wrote that Forest dominated the entire second half: "Originally Posted by hypochondriac Mixed feelings with this win. Fantastic smash and grab against forest who dominated the entire second half " Forest were strong and dominant for half an hour in the second half but Saints clawed back the initiative, despite strong head winds which made accurate passing difficult at times. You should know by now that Hypo 's statements are prone to unqualified exaggeration. Too early to judge Jos and Fox considering that three of the back four were new. Incidently I thought that their first goal was due to Cork playing too far forward, leaving our right flank exposed. We were caught out.

This. My pet garden snails are faster and more accurate.

Celtic poor? They made mincemeat of us when they last played us in pre-season.

I look forward to another wonder goal

Sorry Pilchards, but you must write 100 times ' would have'

On that same site Sven rules out buying Maynard (apols if already posted). More likely NA would still be after him I'd thought, but perhaps Nigel's negotiating an offer for both. (Please let Puncheon be part of it).

To be fair, in the second half Millwall had more stamina and were pressing tight and fierce. We simply did not have the energy nor space to football our way out of defence at times in the second half. All our defenders did just enough, and blocked Millwall when it mattered. A highlight for me was the way we held the ball with neat passing movements in midfield during the last fifteen minutes whenever we could, which caused frustration and desperation in the Milwall ranks (on and off the pitch). I never felt that we had lost the initiative, It was a hard fought victory. Well done all.

I stayed up, saw most of the Leicester match which sent me to sleep, and missed our 30 seconds of fame.

She's the one in the striped shirt

What's happened to the gloomy black background? Anyone would think we were top of the league

Silky passing moves will be deemed deceitful play

If you say so squire. You are obviously a perceptive tactician and know your football, so I look forward to reading your future posts... ..not.

Ipswich 2 - 5 Southampton - post match fapping session
eelpie replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
The main thing about the Leeds match was that they tried their best to wound us out of the game, and nearly did just that. We were miles ahead in skill. But in attritional terms we could well have been bludgeoned into defeat. Fortunately our men have steel in them these days, and not the physical pushover Leeds thought we would be. -

I liked this bit: "Hope they go up then we won't have to go on about them on here anymore, grrrr." -
If any QPR fans are reading the forum to gather information on Jason Puncheon, let me sum up the feelings of the Saints Web members. He's terrific. We'd be devastated to lose him at any price less than a Gorkss.

How much did we offer for Mackail-Smith? Was it 4 mill? We should have upped it because it would have been a good investment.

What exactly is the 'Southampton Way'? And for how long have our teams been playing in this recognisable style? For me I recall the fast flowing precision passing football of Paine and Sydenham, whilst on the negative side (and at a different time) Branfoot was hated so much because he abandoned this style of play. More recently Poortvliet's young team actually played some brilliant passing football at times, but did not have the experience nor firepower to win matches. Recollections of the best of our way of playing football?

You've just burst it. Will we ever win again, lol?
