  1. In terms of skills, Tadanari Lee comes closest to Ossie, even though he hasn't learned the four letter words yet.
  2. That is guaranteed to be their downfall. They'll miss out on promotion and someone is going to have an empty party cruise ship to pay for, lol.
  3. NA - his rival for the England job.
  4. 'arry won't get the England job cos the FA don't like to be told what to do by the press and others. Also Twitchy knows he's on to a good thing with Spurs and he's probably aware England have a poor and complicated squad and so will have a disastrous Euro, whoever is in charge. If he were to oversee this, then what next for himself, is what he's thinking, I reckon. Mind, if he did get the England job, the press would eventually turn against him and all the old stories on their files will start to appear.
  5. Davis; Richardson (if Butterfield injured)-Fonte-Martin-Fox; Puncheon-Schneiderlin-Hammond-Lallana; Sharp-Lambert subs; Bart-Harding-Chaplow-Cork-Lee

    Bring back The Albion Band!
  7. Cork should not start imo - he needs to be rested after the gruelling Brum match. He's played more than most and must be fresh for the League matches.
  8. I enjoyed watching the match (from the comfort of a pub's telly). Glad it went on since so many of our supporters travelled. Hats off to them and the players. Football like it used to be, gritty and determined. And Saints played some very skillful footie despite the conditions. Puncheon was my man of the match and was also mom according to the forum's poll. He has earned his starts, and I hope he starts against Millwall. But Sharp deffo should begin instead of Connolly.
  9. It certainly was a good point against the form side and one of the best defences. If only we could show this resolve and determination to be first to the ball in every match we would still easily be top.
  10. Ok, so when will Skacel sign?
  11. Great news! We will win 4-0 and who cares if there's any snow on the way home! Don't forget the shovel and blankets!
  12. Maynard would be a fast, alert and accurate striker who would be a positive first choice for WH, and that does concern me. We want that top spot back.
  13. Davis Richardson Fonte Martin Fox Punch Spiderman Cork Lallana (or Guly if still injured) Sharp Lambert.
  14. Brilliant!!!! I've been posting for five years for Saints to sign Billy Sharp. So glad Cortese reads my posts.
  15. Agree. And there are now some promising players on the fringe -our youngsters and those returning from injury - that need games so the replay at home will be brilliant match time for them. We should win, and however long the cup run lasts will be bonus. Anxious about Tuesday though. I hope the main players will be fit, in top form and up for it. Cardiff are expecting a weakened side and a muted home crowd, so lets disappoint them!!!
  16. Isn't it intriguing that the players who have been awarded most votes are returnees and relatively new to the team, Martin , Punch and Bart. Even young Shaw picked up votes. It's the experienced hands like Hammond who seem to be underperforming.
  17. Dun Roamin, Chez Itchen for me.
  18. So whose still available then? Sharp? Maynard? Austin? I'd be very, very happy with any of these in the team. Will give us that extra vital thrust in front of goal we need. Swansea are targeting Maynard in a swap deal with Dobble. I'm sure Briz would be happy to have Puncheon!
  19. Cork had a torrid start when he first came here on loan, especially at QPR. Look at him now!
  20. Not all the players can make it to the first team for many reasons of course, but any gifted players trained and sold by us means that they will probably be playing against us at some time, an ironic inevitability. Then if they progress we can be missing out on sell-on fees, so including a sell-on clause is a must with all our youngsters imho. We can't always tell who develops late and makes it big. Like Phillips or Scott MacDonald for two examples.
  21. Arsenal, home or away
  22. Bart Butterfield Hooiveld Martin Harding De Ridder Schneiderlin Hammond Holmes Barnard Connolly Bench Davis, Richardson, Guly, Puncheon, Cork Rest Lallana and Fox , There is no place for Forte in our first team. Whenever he plays we are goalless. Win this game and give the youngsters a chance in the next round which will not be so important to us, because we must win our first game of the year now. And I have every confidence in Bart, so get behind him.
  23. I would rather have Puncheon on the bench than the youngsters. This is the perfect opportunity to find out where he is at. He must know that if he wants to progress his career he has to shop window himself here and impress. Water has flown under the bridge. Everyone deserves a second chance. If he plays, for heavens sake give him a good reception. We could all be surprised.
