  1. Shame. There were lots of people outside begging to buy spare tickets. There should be an opportunity for ticket and ST holders to be able to notify the Ticket Office if they aren't able to attend so that they could be resold. Something along the lines that eventually came to be used for the Olympics. And to incentivise this ticket and ST holders could be given some cashback. Thoughts?
  2. He was much criticised for his participation with L**e in the desperate weeks leading to administration, but for me he is the man who stepped up and rescued the first Ted Bates statue debacle, and funded the brilliant and very popular statue we have today.

    Subs

We did have. Billy Sharp's goals took us to the Prem when Ricky was not scoring at the tail-end of last season. Sharp is a goal snatcher and had a great pre-season. A big mistake to loan him out at this time. He would not have played out of position and would have been a better goal threat than any of the three subs..
  4. This has all the hallmarks of either a deal not to happen or a deal to happen.....
  5. Not true. Nicola will not bow to anyone.
  6. 14-16. After a tough start, which might initially affect confidence, I expect us to climb the table. Our attacking style will frighten many opposition teams, but it exposes and makes difficulties for the back 5 (as it did against Reading end of season.) So without a tough young-Jaidi-like CB to soak up the pressure I think we may struggle at the back against some of the world class strikers in the Premiership.
  7. Add Sharp to the front two, because I can't see our most in-form striker out of the equation
  8. A toughie like Jaidi was when he played in the Prem
  9. Isn't it time that we had a poll on the new website, mods? Something like.. Do you think that the new OS website is better or worse than the previous one? Better Worse
  10. But is Lee guaranteed to return at the same state of fitness as he was when he came here last winter? Unlikely to reach peak fitness for several weeks I would have thought.
  11. I know about these. But I am talking about WHO at the various sites to contact. it is best to have names always, otherwise replies tend to be formulaic and often do not address the issue.
  12. err... so nobody here knows who to contact at SMS to discuss the new website. It used to be that Saints forums had plenty of contacts in the media department. We still should have. How things have changed. This is not a good situation. It is not good that fans are not consulted and that the club does not want to hear our views.
  13. So, since SFC are responsible for adapting the template to suit SFC needs, who at the club can we email to express our concerns (I am not on facebook)?
  14. I would like to meet anyone from the very first St Mary's Church team of 1885 and tell them how their team became one of the greatest football clubs in Britain.
  15. It is if the site gives you double vision.
  16. I know that it is not easy to design websites, however there are basic design do's and don'ts that 99% of graphic designer's understand and that is the importance of comfortable scanning for the reader. White text type shouting out of black backgrounds is notoriously jarring for many, and very difficult for anyone with weak vision. It may be OK for music videos, but is not appropriate for news media. It should not be difficult for a top class design studio to moderate a few background colours and tints, so you guys, who are responsible just do it.
  17. The white type on black background hurts my eyes and gives me headaches. A health issue that they should consider. So I can't use it comfortably, which is a pity, because I used to read the OS a lot. Alps it is a muddle.
  18. There are hundreds of different versions of OWTS and it would be great if a different version were to be played each week -sometime towards the end of half time. (My favourite is by Fats Domino)
  19. Thanks, found that. But the list is not complete. Can't find any reference to the Udinese match. When is it, anyone? The new OS is an incoherent mess.
  20. My eyesight which used to be very sharp isn't as good as it used to be, and I find that the white type on black background on the new OS hurts the eyes after a bit. So I'm not so keen. I tried to look up coming fixtures and only found results and the advert for the Wolves match. So two noes from me.
  21. When we thrash Arse perhaps they'll both want to came back.
  22. The classic 'statue' golden forum posts on a previous forum - wish they still existed!
  23. You mean the red carpet treatment?
  24. Exactly. But all to aim for - ie perfecting our passing, which is pretty good, yet too many stray passes going awry especially during off days. Something we must work on. The new standard to achieve. Can't wait for the season to begin!
  25. How many versions are there out there? Perhaps we should have a sticky so that we can aim to list most if not all of them (with links) - before our Premiership first match. I would love it if the club played a different version each week before the players came out. For the record, my favourites are by Fats Domino and the George Lewis New Orleans Band. Humphrey Littleton did a pretty hot one too.
