If ..Pompey go out of the League before May...
eelpie replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
A gift of £800.000 by the FL to the club down the road is surely unorthodox and open to challenge by other clubs, especially if it is followed by improving results which save the skates from relegation at the expense of another club, I would have thought. To make it fair to all Championship clubs the FL should gift the same amount to all. Thoughts? -
That's because the police kettle in Saints supporters until The stadium has been emptied of Milwall fans. Very uncomfortable it is too.
-
Pity, but not unexpected. Thank goodness Palarse ended our League Cup run and Millwall ended our FA cup run. We would be simliarly fooked . I have sympathy with Cardiff though, not that I like them.

Great post. Re NA. HE is our twelfth man. When we were in the January doldrums he never lost faith in the team and rallied everyone. On the pitchside he is all action and involvement. (compare with previous managers - Pardew and Burley, arms folded passively watching, Redknapp sitting twitching. Nicoa knew what he was doing when he appointed Adkins) Yes the SOS has been rekindled and spirited as ever!
-
Outstandingly gobsmackingly brilliant!!!!!! When he first came here, and after a few mistakes, the word kelvin was not one to speak in gentle company. What a transformation, week on week, and especially since he turned Premiership footie down for Saints. I want SFC to issue a video of Kelv's greatest saves- and with slow motion highlights. His best performances are ranking with Le Tiss's best imho. Put his face on the top, mods!

Your quarrel is nothing to do with me but take out the money from boring fans, take out the money from middle class fans, and take out the money from middle aged fans and we will be a very small club unable to afford the players and facilities we have. And the football will not be as exciting as it currently is because we would almost certainly be in a lower league.
-
Much as it hurts to point this out, Saints would be better served if the Skates beat one of our dangerous promotion rivals. So an own goal Jutkie please. (Not true, I didn't say that)
-
Very impressed with Cardiff's performance, and thought they deserved to win. I was thinking best for us would be that Cardiff would be knackered and demoralised. But now I hope that they can recover in time to thrash Wham. Or draw.
-
You could well be right. Too many times in previous matches where we have lost we had been muscled off the ball, and been second into tackles and interceptions. This last part of the season may be less attractive to watch. Beginning at Leeds. We can't afford to drop away points now.

Referee is T Bates!
-
I hope they will give refunds when the match date is changed to a date that we can't make.
-
True. To go up, which we certainly can do, we have to get used to winning away from home more frequently than we currently are doing. Our away form till the end of season has to become of promotion standard. Stating the obvious, I know, but our away form will determine the success of our season.
-
Wins for Barnsley, Millwall and Blackpool would be best, but if any of our rivals drop points it is good for us.
-
Lee will soon prove he is the best stricker in the league!
-
Not really. He made some cracking crucial stops, especially when Derby were on top at the end of the first half and beginning of the second.

Evening games are becoming increasingly to get to from London due to commitments (and travelling costs) and I'm a ST holder. Every time they switch a game from a Saturday to an evening inevitably means less attendances and less atmosphere in the stadium. And there have been fewer Saturday matches recently. I'm surprised this hasn't aroused concern among supporters. They don't know what they're doing.
-
True. If anyone 's hand was throttling your throat, you would move backwards smartly. Very easy to lose balance in the circumstances.
-
And it pees me off. The Coventry match has been moved from Saturday 14th April to Friday 13th April. It is not always easy to get down from London in time for evening matches. So while the club pockets television fees, ST holders living some way away get to see less matches that have been pre-paid for. There must have been a smaller proportion of Saturday afternoon matches played at St Mary's this season than any other year. Theatres refund or give complimentary tickets if dates have to be changed or postponed when ticket holders can't make the offered dates. And I think the club should do something similar. (even if it is a Cup or away match) Ok, so it will be on Skye, but that is not the same as being in the ground, and not many pubs up here show Championship matches if a London club is not featured. And you can't beat the atmosphere of a Saturday afternoon at St Mary's. Anyone else fed up that there aren't enough Saturday matches? Grouse over ( for now).

At least! Many happy returns, Ricky

That hand and thumb is clearly wrapped around Sharp's kneck, and not a push on his chest as Allerdyce maintains. Or perhaps Sharp is strangling himself? I will give that it is not clear from this pic if Sharp is strangling himself or not, in which case Sharp should have been sent off if self-strangulation is an offence.
-
Pleased with a point. When I did the Predicter early January I had Saints in 3rd equal at this stage, so we're still on track. COYR

Cardiff and Blackpool can do us a good turn, while on the other hand Hammers could deflate their second spot hopes. Promising for us either way.
-
Saints 3 (Sharp. Lambert, Hooiveld) Hoofers 2 (Hoof, hoof)

It would be a rare England manager who could understand Rickie's subtle play. If he were to be called up to an England squad I think he may not be utilised effectively. Even Hoddle didn't know what to do with MLT.

Another match against someone we were linked to? On Saturday it was Sharp against JayRod. We neutered Rodriguez and Billy scored. At West Ham we could be facing Maynard who might make his debut. So could be very interesting if he starts. My money is on Sharp to take the honours again, even though Maynard has enjoyed scoring against us, but that is now in the past. Saints 3-2 Lambert, Sharp and Hooiveld
