  1. Think we need to have a gander at loaning ex-Championship players who're currently at Prem clubs but not getting a look-in. Therefore: Simeon Jackson But also would quite like us to go for........ .....Charlie Austin! I know he's not that popular amonst Saints fans but he is sharp as a tack and a real fox in the box.
  2. Or rather they try and get the team promoted and then recover money if they sell up.
  3. What land is available for free then? I assume you mean land for the training ground as opposed to a new stadium? Kicked in the teeth? As you point out you've had your most successful run in half a century. Re: Tescos - you got a link to back this up or is it another one of those ones where in a few months time you'll say you were just passing on a rumour? As Pompey have shown in the past identifying a site and showing off some slick looking plans is the easy bit. You couldn't get a viable project going when you were in the Prem - you confident this can be achieved now you're in the second tier with lower crowds and a CVA hanging over you.
  4. I don't think a handful of package holidays to places full of other Brits where you're never more than 100 yards from a full English qualifies you as "well travelled".
  5. JRM, to be fair that wasn't aimed at you.
  6. Saintandy666, mate you're much better off being naiive but optimistic and curious than a cynical and narrow minded never was and never will be like some on here. Show me a racist and i'll show you someone with a chip on his shoulder looking to blame someone else for their own failures.
  7. This. Very good Minsk.
  8. Clueless
  9. I'll take that bet.
  10. ****flaps and mandick to stand trial in January http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/nov/12/tottenham-harry-redknapp-tax-trial "Redknapp denies any wrongdoing but would have good reason for his mind to be on other matters when Tottenham Hotspur take on the current Premier League leaders, Manchester City, at the Etihad Stadium the day before the proceedings begin. The timing of the trial may interfere with his club's preparations for the Premier League matches against Wigan Athletic and Liverpool, and, should Spurs qualify, the fourth round of the FA Cup on 28 January. Redknapp and Mandaric, the owner of Sheffield Wednesday, both face two counts of cheating the public revenue. Their alleged offences relate to tax payments due while the pair were respectively manager and chairman of Portsmouth. The indictment laid down by prosecutors states: "Mandaric and Redknapp, between 1 April 2002 and 28 November 2007, with intent to defraud and to the prejudice of HM Revenue and Customs, arranged for $145,000, paid by Mandaric as a result of or in connection with Redknapp's employment and as a reward for services, to be transferred to a Monaco bank account opened by Redknapp for that purpose, in order to conceal the said emolument from HM Revenue and Customs and evade the payment of income tax and national insurance contributions thereon (whether by the operation of PAYE by the club or otherwise)." As for count two, the indictment states: "Mandaric and Redknapp between 1 May 2004 and 28 November 2007, with intent to defraud and to the prejudice of HM Revenue and Customs, arranged for $150,000, paid by Mandaric as a result of or in connection with Redknapp's employment and as a reward for services, to be transferred to a Monaco bank account opened by Redknapp for that purpose, in order to conceal the said employment income from HM Revenue and Customs and evade the payment of income tax and national insurance contributions thereon (whether by the operation of PAYE by the club or otherwise)." The pair will fight the charges in a trial scheduled to last two weeks."
  11. And how does forgetting to wear a poppy make one unfit to teach? and why is forgetting cretinous in the first place? surely its up to each individual to which charities they donate. Does the British Legion automatically take precendence over say Banardos, Children in Need or Cancer Research. I get a poppy every year but this moralising about people not wearing one is pathetic.
  12. What because someone forgot to wear a poppy they're not fit to teach? you're such a cretin. To be honest H4H shouldn't need to exist. The Government should be providing good levels of care to wounded soldiers not relying on charities to do it for them. It's embarrassing.
  13. If anything this gives me a great deal of confidence that he will be a complete flop given that your past record with rumours is so dreadful.
  14. Don't think its comparable. Adkins had a track record of promotions but that's pretty much all we knew. If people were underwhelmed it was because we'd just lost a manager that was generally well liked and one, which ignoring a couple if bad results, we had faith in to take us up. Cortese suddenly getting rid led many to believe that a big exciting name would be waiting in the wings. Adkins was a bit of a surprise. Appleton is completely unknown and no track record at all as a manager.
  15. I'm sure all of the winkers in the Northam who wave their season tickets would happily pay £500 for their season ticket if we somehow found ourselves in the Blue Square Premier League playing Mansfield, Forest Green Rovers and Ebbsfleet week in week out.
  16. pfc123, as trolls go you are pretty weak.
  17. You don't get that many caps for Sweden if you're not a good footballer. Don't think he was particularly suited to WGS's 4-4-2, imagine he would've fitted in better to a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 where his defensive duties may have been lower. Scored some nice goals for us but not quite enough.
  18. Totally, its a slippery slope and eventually could get fairly imflamatory symbols on team shirts.
  19. Shame that they used it to try and score party political points, would have been more powerful and impressive if they'd stuck a huge poppy on the top rather than branded with the incorrectly punctuated "English defence League" logo.
  20. errr so who exactly is that? can you spare us some examples? anyone on here? sounds like a b0ll0cks phrase used by idiots to me.
  21. But there are plenty of jobs out there e.g. in media or retail that are happy for applicants to look different. I dount that the students she observed with piercings etc either want or expect to be working as corporate lawyers, accountants or city traders so its a pointless statement to make and does sound a bit snobbish.
  22. I think that says as much about Mary Beth Hicks as it does about the protesters.
  23. Some amazing shots, cheers mate.
  24. No he couldn't be claiming any benefits, benefits for the less fortunate are socialist and therefore Dune couldn't possibly engage in such socialism.
  25. The commie *****.
