  1. Totally agree, if they have to have a test they should make the questions more relevant to everyday life.
  2. Just picking a few of the closest NHS hospitals to me - waiting times for hip replacements: QA (Portsmouth) - GP referral to operation: 22 weeks St Marys (IOW) - 16 weeks St Richards (Chichester) - 18 weeks Royal South Hants (Southampton) - 12 weeks Southampton General - 21 weeks. So not brilliant by any means but not a Daily Express scareometer busting 2 years. http://www.nhs.uk/servicedirectories/Pages/ServiceSearch.aspx?ServiceType=Hospital
  3. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/blog/quiz/2011/oct/11/uk-citizenship-test-quiz 25 sample questions from the test. I scored 15 out of 25 which is a fail as you need to get 75% and above. I'm well educated, have a strong interest in history and moderate grasp of current affairs - must be bloody difficult to pass if you are a foreigner to these shores. Suspect most Brits would have to revise hard to get a pass
  4. 2 years for a hip replacement - in the UK? really? Think your still living in the 80s. You could equally argue that the victims of this crime have also had to wait too long.
  5. Will you be comfortable knowing that a large chunk of Dubai's prosperity is built upon a foundation of quasi-slave labour?
  6. TDD, i didn't realise you were a submariner, surprised you don't mention it more often.....
  7. The shop you buy your new fire should be able to suggest a couple of different fitters. We bought a fire place from a antique/second hand shop in Southsea to put into a previously bricked up chimney in a Victorian terrace. We had to have the chimney lined because it wasn't keeping all the smoke in (potential source of carbon monoxide posioning to the upstairs bedroom and neighbours) which cost best part of a grand (!). It would have been easier to get a new gas fire. If you're getting an open fire you might also want to consider where you will store your fuel.
  8. too right, he's a complete ****.
  9. So Socialist-Liberal-Authoritarians? even for you, new depths of stupidity and ignorance.
  10. all good sound bites - will they translate into decent policies?
  11. Both Liberal and Authoritarian! A brilliant contradiction.
  12. Dune ups the trolling ante. Getting bored of your usual ****e?
  13. Get in, come on Saints!
  14. Paul Walsh on SSN: all Saints, only one winner.... ...taters' curse?
  15. Absolutely pathetic from the Govt.
  16. Have Rostov flown in especially for this match or are they already in Western Europe for other matches? At £2 per ticket its hard to see how this charitable venture will break even let alone raise funds. Skates are a joke again. Mickey Mouse.
  17. FFS, sometimes you should do yourself a favour and just admit you've lost an argument. In fact, you saying that Gaydamak and Mandaric had ideas but no real attempts (let's ignore Mandick's lame JCB stunt shall we!) just supports my point. Despite being an established Premiership team and despite being owned by seemingly cash rich owners who were definitely interested in property development, a serious attempt at a major redevelopment/new ground was beyond poor old pompey. And now you are struggling in the second tier with a CVA to service you think you present a good opportunity for major redevelopment/new ground?! seriously? if the opportunity is good how come you've never come close to realising it before? So far we've had Farlington (sorry, geese might get hurt), rotate Fratton + "Pompey Village" (lol), toilet bowl (LSD inspired), and Tipner (total cost best part of a billion lol). With each of the last three schemes you came on here telling us the latest rumour and dropped heavy hints that it would net the club loads of cash and make St Mary's look crap in comparison. Whenever we poo-pooed it you gave us lots of reasons why they could work. And yet you've still got a **** tip of a "stadium". Face it, unless you win the Euromillions rollover you've got feck all chance of a big development in the next two or three decades.
  18. Much lolage. How many unsuccessful attempts have your shower made at either re-developing that dump or building a new ground in the last 20years. How many other clubs have made significant developments during that time? Saints, Leicester, Derby, West Ham, Chelsea, Man U, Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesboro, DARLINGTON, MK Dons, CHESTERFIELD, NORTHAMPTON, Millwall, Arsenal, Man City, Plymouth, Shrewsbury, Blackburn, Bolton, COLCHESTER, OXFORD, WYCOMBE, S****HORPE, Wigan, BOURNEMOUTH, Brighton, Swansea, Cardiff, Hull, Charlton, Stoke, Coventry....
  19. you can't play brilliantly every match, we're not Barcelona you know (yet!)
  20. Sometimes it's just not your day, no need for a knee jerk reaction or inquirey. need a positive response on Saturday.
  21. 5extra saying it was Morgan who gave it away not Jos
