mainboard must be ancient if it takes SDRAM, I doubt that its capable of taking more than 128mb in a single slot. Actually im surprised it booted up at all, back in the day if you put too much ram in u'd just get a "beep", which was your MB laughing at you and telling you to upgrade. You could go out and buy a mainboard / modern processor and 2gb of DDR2 for about 120 quid and whack that in your old case, prob what i'd do if I needed a cheap 2nd comp.

Ello, just to update mr.handyman, its all fixed now, leak free and running well. I cleaned the whole engine bay, took hours. Tried some "gasket paper" but it was worse than useless, so I went for a different kind of silicone, black stuff this time, i applied it after cleaning the cam cover and meeting faces vigorously, whacked some of the stuff on both the faces and havnt looked back! Dead pleased thats its all sorted now. Theres no oil appearing anywhere else on the engine block so its looking good at the mo.

Done the old towel trick a few more times and its running like a beaut now! been playing the lost and damned, which I couldnt play on a ps3. Ganna get halo wars in town today before the game, the demo was fun.
