Barfy Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 Their job is to maintain the company as a going concern in order to sell it to satisfy the creditors. If we have a football club next season and satisfied (in the legal sense) creditors, then they will have done their job. If they can't sell it, then they will liquidate the assets and distribute the proceeds according to the relevant legislation. Their fee is dependent on how long this process takes, and is not dictated by them, but rather how much money is available to the company in order to keep running during administration, and whether anyone is interested in, and can complete a satisfactory purchase of the company. Unfortunately, you, like a lot of others it seems think that B-T are working for the pure benefit of the fans, and that this entire process should be conducted on this forum rather than in a professional corporate manner. SaintRobbie Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 I will email them and congratualte them on the way this has been handled. First time we have seen some financial professionalism at SMS for 14 years. People need to realise two things: 1. The prefered bidder (Pinnacle) is in place with Fry et al. Further clarification is needed in a complex deal which takes time. 2. If not Pinnacle Fry et al have to entertain other bids. Either way its a win for Saints. Survival is the key. Survival without Lowe and the chance to rebuild. FWIW, Pinnacle will shortly close the deal IMHO. CHILL!

SaintBobby Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 I might be persuaded to complain IF ever deal goes t*ts up. So far, I think Fry has been pretty excellent. I'm also not going to make a di*k of myself by firing off letters of complaint (a)before I know the full details and (b) possibly a few hours before a deal is completed. Mr Nice Posted 26 June, 2009 Author Share Posted 26 June, 2009 Even if Pinnacle complete or indeed anyone this whole thing has been very poorly handled. In particular the football league licence situation should of been sorted out weeks ago. Clarification should of been made before any parties where spoken to by BT. Then you have seemingly continual leaks to a local newspaper to drag this on longer. In the meantime tens of thousands of pounds is being billed by BT. A proffesionally run deal would of seen absolutely nothing being disclosed until the deal was complete.

A proffesionally run deal would of seen absolutely nothing being disclosed until the deal was complete. Nothing has been disclosed though, except what Tony Lynam has wanted to reveal. BT were not responsible for sorting out matters with the football league. They are acting on behalf of the creditors to recover monies owing to them, they are not running the company/club merely ensuring that it is stil a going concern to sell. The issues with the FL were always going to be the responsibilities of the prospective new owners, and it is up to those parties how they want to deal with the FL, not BT. Begbies Traynor have not acted improperly in any way. Had they done so, Aviva and Barclays would have acted to resolve the situation before now. Topcat Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 Why did Begbies Traynor think that "Pinnacle" were fit and proper people to consume the past 3 week? If Leon Crouch was the one who paid the exclusivity fee, it raises even more doubts about Begbies Traynor diligence on the "pinnacle" outfit. S-Clarke Posted 26 June, 2009 Share Posted 26 June, 2009 What a stupid thread. They are doing what they were appointed to do, getting the best deal for the creditors. What we fans get at the end of it isn't actually high on their priority list. (Although obviously it's preferable that we do have a football club at the end of it) It's not their fault that this Pinnacle bid has turned into a complete joke. but one thing id like to see them do today is make a decisive decision, i.e kill pinnacles bid.
