we may be making hard work of getting a win but there is always something to smile about.them lot down the road,4 games, nil points.lol oh happy days, relegation certainties, coyr

Let me get this correct. You are happy because Pompey have no points?

You need to grow up, FFS. I have NEVER understood why we are interested in how any other team is getting on. Honestly, I don't care how Portsmouth/Man U/Chelsea get on. I spend my time concerned about only one team, Saints. I suggest you let Pompey fans worry about Pompey and us worry about our own team, SAINTS!

Massive over reaction. So you take no interest in other clubs at all? surely a unique viewpoint if true

Of course I look at other club's results but I'm not filled with hatred for other clubs.

hatred is a strong word. to be honest i take pleasure in seeing them lose when im drunk in the pub. its football after all, full of ups and downs. I remember being 11 yrs old playing sunday league and taking pleasure when the rat boy teams lost. There is no point getting a bee in your bonnet about it. And telling him to grow up I just thought was harsh. but good luck to you mate

Actually all things considered I thought PFC did pretty well against an obviously better funded and much superior Man City , we may well be a tad premature in writing them off . It's not how you start but how you finish that counts - a notion that could equally apply at this end of the M27 .

Funny how different people see different things, I thought that they were absolute crap (particularly in the first half) and should easily have been 3/4 down at HT !

I can't ever remember seeing so many passes going straight out of play instead of finding their man !

That said, Man City did not look like a team who've just spent £200m but they were always in the comfort zone except for the last few frantic minutes when Nugent missed a sitter !

I only saw the edited 'highlights' on MOTD2 , to my mind these made PFC seem mildly threatening on occasion but if having seen the entire game you can say this is a false picture than I bow to your superior knowledge . Still too early to write them off completely I'd say but here's hoping anyway :D

If it was just Saints I take an interest in, life would be very depressing

And just exactly where, in the above, does rick mention a hatred of another club?

Schadenfreude maybe, humorously almost definitely but not a hatred!

I can't see any reasons for gloating at all. They have a long way to fall (or vice-versa) before it will be seen as anything other than petty small-mindedness. You can imagine what we'd be thinking if the positions were reversed. IMHO we have to be at least in the same division before we can glean any comfort from their misfortune compared to ours (if you can be bothered, that is).

Like someone has already pointed out, the prem is really bad this year! It's got a lot of teams who will really struggle. Pomp*y will be one of them but they might get lucky (as always) as I think there are 3-4 teams worse than them. Hull, Wigan, Wolves, Burnley, Brum and even Bolton and Stoke I feel will struggle just as much. Either way, we're not really in a place to take the p*ss just yet, having 7 less points and being bottom of a league far below theirs...

WISE( another hint!!!:D) words NORM. Just look where all the past hatred and mockery got us. What goes around, ay, comes around and time our supporter base grew WISE and let karma take it's own course where others are concerned.

So much for us having a new owner, a new start, being debt free, as far as the supporter base and our forums go we're sinking to the lowest ebb we've even been. At this rate I ask myself when we will ever rise up and be Saints supporters who smile back and just like the ducks let water run off theirs back.

Saint's we've been but sadly nowadays Saints we're not!

Pathetic post.

Any true Saints fan enjoys seeing those filthy scallys doing badly.

I guess your tongue is firmly in your cheek. I always thought that the hatred shown by some Pompey fans towards all things red and white was an indication of bitterness, and that Saints fans had the class to rise above all that with their indifference.

That's why I pity them rather than hate them. While all the time looking to have a chuckle at their expense.

i cant see how anyone could pity pompey whilst we are sat -7 in div 3 and cant buy a win..

How about despite being in the third tier, without a win, on -7 and getting 19K + through the gates; yet at the mighty Portsmyth they can't sell out their toilet of a ground for a premiership game against one of 'big attractions' of the season. Did anyone else see the row upon row of empty seats in the Fratton end and along the side??? Unbelievable.

The blue few get fewer and fewer.

it is funny, yes..but filling your ground (what ever size) does not put points on the board

But just imagine what a run of good results will do to attendances. It should become a virtuous circle: good attendances = a financially healthier club = more funds available from our cautious but calculating owner = more success.

Just need a win to start it, of course!

And norm, the word you're looking for is 'harumph!' (For best effect, you need to say it while wearing pipe and slippers, brandishing a lemon shandy in the snug).

Anyone who doesn't take a certain degree of pleasure in P*mpey's troubles is lacking that essential human quality of schadenfreude.

Docker, many thanks for the answer.

I'm beginning to think that DD spends far too much time concentrating on the negative aspects of following Saints.

I'm over the moon that we all have a club to follow!

I dont though..Im just not happy that we have 3 points from 15..?

so what..?

I think Pardew is a good manager

I believe we have the best to offer in the league financially and in terms of resources..

I think our players a miles better than what the league says..

I really believe we will over take pompey in the next few years..

however, if it was roles reversed with us and pompey..I would laugh at the thought of a team bottom of div 3 on -7, cant buy a win trying to ridicule us..

however, it wont be too long for natural order to be restored...

saying that, they may not even down yet whilst we seem to happy to just survive...

hmmmmmm

I too am happy we have a club..but wasnt all this all part of "we have to go into admin to get rid of lowe"..?

I was dead against admin but was assured on here we would come out the other end..so why is it a surprise we have a club to follow..?..not that it matters as things turned out great..

one thing though, we cant keep using that line to gloss over the fact we cant win, still conceed late and seem to be giving away alot of penalties....im sure it will come good but I would prefer it (wouldnt we all) if it had already..

and pardew thinks similarly as he HIMSELF even said this week that there is no room for excuses anymore..

on a plus point, isnt it great that these little debates are just about the team/performance etc...that is what it should be about..

No, not at all.

I don't hate them and I wouldn't shout "skate!" at one like they probably would if they saw a "scummer". I do however enjoy it mightily when they struggle.

That's completely different from their insular and aggressive 40-year itch.

Quite why any Saints fan would not enjoy seeing Pompey suffer is beyond me.
