Reib80 Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 How many other league 1 teams do you think (could afford) to do this too? Could give us a slight advantage in the next game.

Obviously not League 1 (at the moment) but I read that Peterborough had done the same.
Window Cleaner Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 How many other league 1 teams do you think (could afford) to do this too? Could give us a slight advantage in the next game. Most of them who have reached the 4th round of the FA Cup,have a JPT final in view and who are getting 20K gates from players who are mostly on League 1 salaries. The club is making money from a lot of games, some of it is being spent on the people who are making it happen. opthomps Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 Arent they due back tomorrow? It also looked like it was just as freezing in Spain as in England on the weather forecast I saw, which makes it a real waste of time if so. Nevertheless maybe good for a team bonding session with a difficult month ahead.

Arizona Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 10 degrees in Alicante at the moment, so I don't think they're be spending too much time sunbathing.
Pilchards Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 Maybe the problem is getting the players down Staplewood for training as some do travel far. Training in the dome is good but there is nothing better than a bonding session and a chance to play on some decent outside pitches surely? The9 Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 10 degrees in Alicante at the moment, so I don't think they're be spending too much time sunbathing. Funnily enough I went to Alicante in January for my (30th) birthday in 2003, it was about 10 degrees then. Feels surprisingly warm even so, and I did go on the beach, though my shirt was still on. I wonder if that Coyote Ugly bar is still open in the Marina...?

Matthew Le God Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 How will the first team squad and manager being away effect us in our efforts to sign players? Generally the player meets the manager to discuss how the player will fit into his plans. Talk about his ambitions and sell the club to him. Of course Cortese can do alot of the work without that. But if I were a player I'd like to meet Pardew before signing anything. So Pardew being away delays any deals for a few days if the player hasn't already met him. Just hoping Pards likes Messi when he spots him at Staplewood on his return.......Have we had the forum whip round for our new player or are we going to transfer some of the Gillet sponsor money... NC will not be best pleased when he gets the bill for 150 mil. To my fellow posters......When buying players for Pards....quality counts:rolleyes: COYRs
West End Saint Posted 11 January, 2010 Share Posted 11 January, 2010 How good is it to be a Saint the team is away training in Spain we are signing £1M + players in there prime from the league above being linked with quality players AP has said there could be 2 or 3 more signings this month get in I love it COYS. People say we are the Man City of League 1 and whilst we have the Money and are being linked with players that are better quality than are league we are not like them. We are doing our business with a bit of class with a long term plan for success not just spunking money on has been Billy Big Potatoe's.
