Why are clubs jealous of Saints, we are starting to get the animosity that Leeds, Man U et etc get, just because we are well supported for this division and spent a bit of dosh..

"No one likes us, we dont care"

like we were jealous of chelsea when in the prem..

MONEY is the answer

I've heard that MK fans have been desperately trying to get tickets for the away leg. But StuRomseySaint has been having deep conversations with the ticket office staff and blocking the phone line, which has kept sales this low.

I thought the old Wimbledon fans were always decent. Clapped us at Dellhurst Park & all I saw was us lot giving em the finger! Harsh! Need to be more gratious!

There's always the moronic element that hate the opposition, regardless, but I don't see the problem. If anything, since the takeover, a certain element of our fans have been arrogant & smug. We need more humility as Markus & Cortese are a very good thing but they can leave as easily as they arrived. I hope not for sometime but never become too smug, just be grateful.

Just went on there. Another thread on there saying lets beat the dirty saints etc. Terrible club, terrible fans.

Bunch of knobs. The guy saying we booed the team off at half time at the MK Dons league game WTF. I was there and didn't hear anything of the sort, only optimism that we would come out second half and ping a load past them and it turned out to be true.

A very good point. Alan Pardew made mention of the fact that Markus is a religious type who didn't like our players showing dissent to the Ref. I've been wondering for a while what they'll feel about football if there's trouble at the cup game. Could be enough to encourage their exit.

I do think it's funny how genuinely excited people are that we could win the JPT. It's meaningless really but we are starved of success!

I can't speak for everyone but I'm mostly looking forward to a trip to London and Wembley, I know it's the same for most of my mates and people I speak to.

Would love to see Hammond lift the trophy in March, would celebrate in the same manner I would celebrate winning any trophy.

Next week will be massive for us.

I agree Andy (if Jodie comes down with me I may meet up with you for a beer on the Saturday?) The trip itself will be epic and it's always nice to get thousands of saints fans together for a bit of an atmosphere. I just get the impression that most other fans couldn't give a toss about the trophy whereas it means more to Southampton fans. Perhaps it is because we have had nothing for the last few years. I personally will be going mental should we win.

However, what a great vindication for ML that his investment is worth it , any Wembly final creates interest because it is an historic venue/ ground known world wide, for many people in Europe see Wembly as an honour and privlidge to be involved in any final there, when ML , his family and busines associates are having the whole hospitality / tour side of Wembly who knows what other knock on effects this may have for us as a club... JPT it may be , but in the world as a global sporting brand you can't get much better than Wembly.. well I think so anyhow especially as we would easily sale out our allocation ..would be a geat day out for a club that 8 months ago nearly went forever

Seems you're right about other fans, I think quite a lot of teams don't really give a toss either. I think we're a bit of a special case considering our -10 and poor start, we put a lot of emphasis on the cups this season, next season when we're looking to win the league I don't think we will be getting so excited about the JPT.

Saturday sounds good, will let you know where i'm drinking closer to the game.

I guess when you win the JPT twice it loses it's appeal.

Well Man Utd have won the Champions League twice, but I can imagine their next final allocation will soon sell out. Any Dons who think the JPT isn't exciting have serious delusions of grandeur. They will never be more than a CCC - League 1 yoyo club at best.

its not meaningless, it's fairly insignificant though.

I am not excited about winning it - more at this stage about seeing Saints play at Wemberly

What awful fans, nobody turned up for the home leg and if that forum is to be believed, 300 sold is absolutely pathetic. If the FL have any sense they'd bust them down to their true level in the Conference and put AFC Wimbledon in L1, they're the ones with the true fans.

I didn't even think it was worth replying.

Comparing the jpt to the champions league is mental, even for this forum.

Yes. That is exactly the point I was making. :-s

I'm glad you have completely understood what I meant. Not like all those idiots who believe the importance of a competition is relative to the size of the club and that for a third division club any trip to Wembley and silverwear is a big deal.
