St_Tel49 Posted 26 June, 2010 Share Posted 26 June, 2010 Yesterday I went on-line to renew my Season ticket. I now qualify for a concession (being an even older old git) but the renewal came up with the full price. I searched in vain for a means of telling them I was entitled to the concession - nothing. Apart from anything else - why should I have to tell them. They have my date of birth - surely the system should work out automatically that I was entitled to the concession. In the end I renewed on the telephone where I was charged the correct price. I just wonder - what is the online system for when buying on the telephone seems so much easier? eurosaint Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 I agree, it is a ****poor, non user friendly system ! TBF though, my concession came up automatically but this is now my second year so it was just a straight repeat order !
Katalinic Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 Going back a few months I seem to remember filling out a survey on suggested improvements - hopefully an upgrade is imminent.
Saint_Jonny Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 With respect to your problem, i think it is pretty good. Living miles away and having that service to get away tickets etc has been great for me, especiallly since it was all free. Shame that there will be a charge next season but that his how most ticket sites work these days so - so be it.

Nexstar Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 I think when you change age bracket it doesn't recognise this. The online system is pretty much useless.
Give it to Ron Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 Agreed it works the other way as well - my lad went from being under 12 to youth category on renewals. Had I been dishonest I could of saved a fair chunk....by just renewing at the old price. I phoned and booked over the phone at the newer rate.....£140 extra this year though...ouch. The system should look at DOB and put in that category of ticket.
Kenilworthy Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 I tried to renew season tickets for myself and my two sons. But even though they were previously associated with me - I booked tickets for Wembley in one go on line - it refused to bring them up. So I ended up doing it by telephone. RonManager Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 It is very much the 'Curate's Egg' - good in parts, but 'the worst on the internet?' - let us know when you've tried every other booking form.
SNSUN Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 I can't say I find fault with the booking system thus far. Aside from telling us the best way to order is online, and then charging us out of towners* £3 for the privilege, I've always found it easy to use and had my tickets delivered promptly. It is a fallible system, but sometimes that can work in your favour, as I found out ordering Pompey tickets last season. It does need an overhaul, but it could be worse. edit* Charging everyone £3 of course, but worse for those that can't buy tickets at SMS.
Marsdinho Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 I want to buy a new season ticket (not renew) and cant even seem to get to a page where I can choose this option.
dune Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 It's probably the most expensive. Paying a £3 booking tax for tickets is daylight robbery.
mcjwills Posted 27 June, 2010 Share Posted 27 June, 2010 I tried to renew season tickets for myself and my two sons. But even though they were previously associated with me - I booked tickets for Wembley in one go on line - it refused to bring them up. So I ended up doing it by telephone. You needed to log in with each son find their booking code against their renewal code and then when you linked their season ticket put that code against their name when requested. Took my mate & I about an hour to work that out on the first day they went on sale. Still agree it is a **** system, even worse if charging you £3.00 per order.
