Pardew sign him up!

It's annoying. I don't think we're going to get him and he's just the sort of player we need - pacey winger who can also play up front.

If we can get better, great....but no one leaps to mind...

Emile Heskey? .... oh sorry you said better than him, not a steaming pile of horse sh!te

Would be ferkin fantastic if we got him, but I can't for the life of me see it happening.

I think if we would of bought him he would of been our first singing we need to write a letter to Alan Pardew and get it signed by all of our fans who think we need to sign Antonio and send it off to him (I can't remember what this is called lol). Any one up for doing that?

We shouldn't have let Mclaggon go just the sort of pacy winger we needed. I'm pretty sure Antonio isn't coming back.

He would have been here by now if he was coming back.

Reading will probably be using him as an impact sub this season....unfortunately.

With Reading he gets Championship footy, a chance to shine, a chance to get promoted or a chance to get bought by a Premiership team.

At Saints he gets fan love and a great chant.

Last season we made Antonio for Reading really and that's just the way it is.. sadly.

100% agree with that

Didn't understand that at all

Unless the club thought his injury last year suggested he was going to spend more long term time on the phisios bench rather than on the pitch

That was the issue i think, the injury he suffered was a killer - Achilles i think? Don't think he ever fully recovered from it. Which is such a shame as he looked a fantastic prospect with the couple of glimpses we saw under the dutch duo.

Sat near the dugout yesterday for a change, as MA came on AP applauded him though a guy behind me was telling his friend that he spoke to MA and he said Saints tried to get him, he wanted to come back but it was out of his hands, make of that what you will

Indeed it was, Reading had an option to extend his contract, regardless of Antionio's wishes.

Whether they did it to keep him due to his maturing as a player with us or to make sure they get a fee if they sell him, remains to be seen.

Maybe like Pardew has alluded to, we aren't in a rush to sign Antonio because a better player might become available in a few weeks time.

He'll be able to step right in and pick up where he left off hopefully, so if we can't get anyone better we'll make the move.

Hopefully anyway.
