It rounds up the few whispers that are going around. Nigel Adkins features again - I like him and I admire the job he has done at you-know-who-that-the-filter-doesn't-like but after what I witnessed on Saturday I think a stronger character is required to instill discipline and also we need someone with the contacts in the game to get us 4 loan players of good quality fast so Rickie can have his surgery, Martin and Fonte have cover and we get some pace in the side so we can drop Hammond and co. I'm not saying Adkins isn't capable of that but I can imagine a Sturrock-type scenario as let's face it Saints players aren't well known for their respect for managers, let alone one that was a physio. He does seem like a great motivator and hopefully he'd get the seemingly heftier members of the squad (Lambert, Jaidi, Puncheon) doing extra training.

I wonder who the prem manager alluded to in the article is?

As sugested elsewhere, probably the current caretaker at Villa. Let's face it he has no chance of getting that job permanently and may well even lose his old job when the new bloke brings in his own staff.

Wilkins is presumably feeling similarly vulnerable here.

Martinez is probably one of the most secure managers in the Prem right now. You just need to know a little history of his relationship with Wigan and listen to Whealen speak to realise that there relationship and trust in each other is as strong as anyones in the Prem.

Nor would it be Holloway who has regularly lol'd at the rumours in the papers about his position and i'm pretty sure wouldn't fancy throwing away a chance to manage in the prem for an unstable League One job.

If anyone it would be MacDonald.

Again, the 'premier league manager' applying will be mcdonald at villa. why do people think holloway or martinez would throw away their chance of top flight management? outsiders like us might think they're heading down without a hope, but they certainly won't. no chance they've applied.

1 manager is temporary and about to be unemployed. seems fairly obvious doesn't it?[/QUOTE]

Oh baron greenback at west ham. Saints would be close to his favorite massage parlour too.

Cant believe how it all seems doom and gloom. Were 6 points off top spot with a game in hand. We havent lost all our games. Weve won one, drawn one, lost two and have a postitive goal difference.

FFS a good appointment this week and 3 points on Saturday and we'll all be saying how great things are.
