St Marys TV Screen Changes

I quite liked the changes to the footage being shown on the screens at St Marys on Saturday, with the flashy videos of the players turning around as their names are read out... Just seen that they have started using these in the extended highlights on player too.. we're starting to look quite professional we is!!!

What was with them playing movie trailers though, was this a first? I say Movie TrailerS, it was actually one trailer played repeatedly... I dislike any kind of advertising that is forced upon us and am angered when during a game I'm conned into looking up the screen only to see an ad... I just think "right, Im not buying from them....." Maybe we will be seeing more and more trailers being shown as the club pushes to make more money....

Also they seemed to use the wrong aspect as the score and other text couldnt be seen completely... I remember seeing a vacancy for a TV screen operator a while back, maybe the recent changes are their doing.

C for effort need to improve on accuracy.

I remember someone at the club saying they were going to improve the use of the screens but I was under the impression they were going to replace them completely? I wont start on the audio problems...

I heard the Saints line up twice before KO but as usual there is no information on whose on the bench. Surely knowing who the substitutes are is of interest as we are constantly being told that football is a squad game.

I noticed that and did wonder why they didnt announce the subs. Wouldnt have been too difficult to carry on with the videos for the subs.. Maybe they havent got a video for some of the newer guys so couldnt :-P A list over the tannoy would have been appreciated though, despite sitting 4 rows behind the dug out.

Pity they did'nt improve on the screaming moron with the microphone, as well. Better still, get rid of him altogether. Cheerleader, I dont think so.

They had a vid of Chaplow & he was only signed a day or 2 before.

I miss the replays of the goals, which I don't think they've done since we were relegated from the prem.

Careful where you place your anger.. A lot of research shows that the adverts that annoy you most are often the ones that are most effective.

Too true. But not always in the way they might hope.

As I said on an earlier thread, those frickin' Halifax ads resulted in me closing my account with them!

Every game they announce the subs and have the pictures on the screen. You just need to get into the stadium earlier to hear it!

When they go through the lineups closer to kick off time they just do the starting eleven players.

Anyone watched the bloopers for the shooting of these new videos on player?????

Wotton is a Loon!!! Drooling his spit down his chin during a close up... hmmm. For the second time in as many days its weird to witness the saints players in "unprofessional mode"....

I'm normally in my seat 5 to 10 minutes before KO and even then before thousands of others. I've no wish to eat junk food, drink tasteless keg bitter or indifferent coffee to kill the time. I just can't think why substitude info can't be given to the majority.

Just for the record there was a job advertised for Events Manager / Corporate Hospitality Manager on the Saints OS a few weeks back, one of the roles was co-ordinating the matchday screen coverage, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are changes and new ideas being put in place.

They could start by getting the screen resolution to fit though, the names of the subs were half hidden off the screen for the AFCB match. :D

That'll be why then. Have to get in earlier these days. Point taken then, it would be nice for it to be part of every announcement.

As well as the team being read out at the beginning of the match it'd be nice to see the team line-up on the big screen, with the players names set out in formation like Sky, BBC etc do. In all fairness they could keep the screens off during the game now,all I ever used to use them for was when they showed the replays.

On the filming bloopers vid it showed what the final product should look like and it very much looked like the sky player line up videos before a game, with the pitch in the background and the different parts of the squad lined up next to each other. Think it's a work in progress but looks good...

Still think wotton is a weirdo on the back of those vids....

Why has it been edited and Wotton dribbling removed???

Haha, has it? :-) I did think it was particularly immature and was the first time I've seen the team without their professional heads on. Quite an eye opener..

Maybe someone at the top didn't approve with the image it gave out ;-)

Do they read this forum or something?!? :-P

Who remembers the score board they brought in in the late eighties. After about 10 minutes into the game it used to always screw up with pixels all over the place.

Nowadays im still in the pub when they put the players names on.
