Current form for last 8 league games

P W D L Pts

1 Peterborough 8 7 1 0 22

2 Leyton Orient 8 7 1 0 22

3 Brighton 8 7 0 1 21

4 Southampton 8 5 2 1 17

5 Mk Dons 8 5 2 1 17

6 Huddersfield 8 4 4 0 16

Hard to believe all sides are so strong at this time of year. Bearing in mind Brighton's one loss was to MK Dons and MK Dons only loss was to Orient!

The one plus side is the bookies don't seem to have noticed as 6/4 and 13/8 readily available for Peterborough and Huddersfield's midweek games. Easy money although still gutted when Huddersfield scored in 90+2 although paid for the Chinese!

10 to go and the pressure will start to really mount now. I think with around 5 games to go some teams will start to crack under the strain if they all continue winning. I guess its a question of who will hold their nerve.

i think there could be a small fortune to be made selling SFC stress balls outside the grounds come april

I have been thinking that teams would start feeling the pressure for a while now maybe Bournemouth after losing 2 on the bounce but we could do with them taking points of Posh.

Posh Udders Orient & Brighton have all been on great runs breaking records ect you have to think that they are going to have a wobble and drop a few points they have been relentless it cant go on can it ?

I dont think we have hit our best form yet now would be a really good time for us to hit a purple patch I think we are going to have to beat our back to back wins record to secure 2nd spot

Surely it is future form that is important not current form based on a few games

Charlton on Current form a few weeks ago looked really good but now they are nowhere

Bournemouth have slipped recently

Still every chance of Automatic Promotion

Bournemouth's chances of staying in the play-off places will probably depend on how quickly they get Symes back to fitness.

They look totally toothless without him,he wouldn't have let Fonte bear hug him all of the time.

I don 't know I get the feeling Fonte and Jaidi are much happier playing against big bastard centre forwards than little nippy ones. Physical they can handle, pace seems to scare the **** out of them.

re the pace issue, difficult to be nippy when Fonte has just cut you in half because you aren't physical enough!....

felt really confident after Bmouth, then I couldn't believe that Huddersfield and PBoro both won the other night.

They cannot carry on the way they are going....it isn't possible, or if they do we can't complain about losing out as they would both deserve it.

I thought Peterborough's run in was tough but the way they are demolishing sides they look unstoppable, but that can change...

Really don't want to be having three games in hand to make up 7-8 points.

I'm not sure we are going to get that stress-free, promotion sorted before the last day, playoff-dodging finale we hoped for.

That aside, no one would want us in a playoff, we have big occasion players and steamrolling Sheff Wed counts for nothing if you have to come to a packed St Marys....or face us at Old Trafford.

Quietly confident, but a few butterflies are circling.

My gut feeling is the teams around us have had purple patches and are due a wobble. We, on the other hand have been bumping along and are due a pick up in form.

Don't forget about injuries too. Huddersfield have already lost one of their main players, which other key players are going to get injured between now and the end of the season? Who has the best squad to cope?

Still confident of top 2 but I do wish we could play those catch up games sooner rather than later as our (points behind & games in hand) position is a psychological burden IMO.

Years of supporting Saints have made many of us pessimists, convinced we'll buckle when the going gets tough. I'm one of them, sitting on the edge of my seat during games, even with a two goal cushion, half expecting Saints to blow it.

Yet for some reason, I have confidence this season that we'll do it, make second place. Ok, it will be by the skin of our teeth, and we'll have to pull out our best form in years, but I have an inkling this could be our year. We have too much to lose to rely on the play-offs. Knowing Saints though, it may go down to a last day decider, but as long as we're ahead either on points or goal difference before that game, I'm confident in our ability to finish the season off with a win.

Glass half full? I feel like it at the moment. For some reason.

I don't think we will go up automatically, injuries & suspensions could be a significant factor in this. We've lost Morgan & Gobbern for a while, I don't know what the yellow card count currently is, but Deano & Chappers bust be getting near a suspension. If one of those two get suspended, our midfiled will look very second-rate. We also need Kelvin to stay uninjured.

Hoping for a top 2 place, but I just can't see it at the moment. Still I've never been to Manchester, so it should be a nice day out.

The great thing about this year is none of us know. How will Peterborough or for that matter Brighton deal with a defeat when it eventually comes. In my view if we achieve an average of 2 points to the end of the season then we can hold our heads up high and NA will have done a good job. We may however need more than 85 to secure second. We shall see.

That's the problem with statistics they can't be extrapolated to work anything out as an end result. In our case Peterborough and Bournemouth away and only 3 home games.
