B Rabbit Posted 5 April, 2011 Share Posted 5 April, 2011 Very surprised at how well Brigthon are followed away, regardless of them having a good season.
Bucks Saint Posted 5 April, 2011 Share Posted 5 April, 2011 Oldham 463. So our best performance of the season was witnessed by the smallest following, some 1,000 less than usual away from home, and about 20,000 less than go to St Marys. Well, I enjoyed it! ludgershallsaint Posted 5 April, 2011 Share Posted 5 April, 2011 Bristol Rovers will bring a fair few to their game here. I would imagine Hartlepool's will be even lower than their average (work next day/distance) and Walsall's will depend to a large degree on what they have riding on it. dronskisaint Posted 9 April, 2011 Share Posted 9 April, 2011 Very surprised at how well Brigthon are followed away, regardless of them having a good season. Until next year they undoubtedly get a better experience away than at that rec ground/allotment that they call home!

Crab Lungs Posted 10 April, 2011 Share Posted 10 April, 2011 Skates take an average of 921 supporters per away game (I think I calculated that right)... the current 2nd best in the Championship! Conversely, if we were in the Championship we'd be top, not taking into account the different journeys we'd have to make etc...

You're making this up surely????? Griffo Posted 11 April, 2011 Author Share Posted 11 April, 2011 Leeds have sold out every away game for something like 60 consecutive games. I think the last one they didn't sell out was Oldham away on a Tuesday night. Strange, as that'd be one you'd expect them to sell out!

There is a forum/website that lists them all, obviously I can't find it now that I need it, but have a search on the net and it should turn something up. Forest and Leicester have much much larger averages, as do Derby, probably Norwich and Cov too. Mind you Pompey do have one of the longest combined away travel mileages, quite a bit longer than ours I might add.

That list just tells you that on average there are 18k fans at the away games that Pompey have had. ie they are the second biggest draw. It doesn't mean they took lots of away fans to games it just tells you lots of home fans turned up hoping to see their side thrash the tax dodgers. It actually is a reflection on their poor home support. If you have a crap home attendance all the other teams in the league are handicapped by having to come to your crappy place and it affects the away teams average away attendance. Seeing as the blue few never get that crappy home attendance in their away stats their away average is boosted! If you don't get what I mean look at the premier league as Man Utd are bottom of the away attendance stats as they never get the 75000 boost to their average that every other club got by playing at Old Trafford!
