sfc4prem Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 Probably a nice little departing appearance for him when we have the league wrapped up.

Lighthouse Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 As wrong as I'd like to be, I can't see him being anything other than 5 yards off the pace if he played for us again.

Saint Garrett Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 He was good in parts last season, He couldnt hack multiple games and he wouldnt hack it against even the worst teams in this division. Also can't pass which would mean he wouldnt fit into the way we play. Caredit where credit is due he was decent last season, but he is only decent at heading. No he scored a lot of goals and showed he could hack mulitple games. That comment was out of order. I reckon he is better than seaborne and martin. Hes the best headerer of the ball ive seen in a saints shirt evr since 86.

I can only remember 2 or 3......and he couldn't have multiple games, he struggled and was very leggy if he played too many games in a short space of time. I don't think it's out of order saying he'll probably be off the pace these days, because it's pretty plausible that he will be. This is a hard league, and this is a guy who's on his last legs and has just come out of a very serious knee injury. I would personally be very worried if we used him in any league games this year. I'm not ignoring what he did for us in the past because he was a solid L1 player, but I can't imagine him being able to hack the pace of this league. Saint Garrett Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 We shall see, Clearly a good character to have around the place so offer him a coaching role or something, I dont really want to see him in our team again. Think Seaborne offers us all round more at centre back.

Saint Garrett Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 So you would be happy and feel comfortable if he was in the team this season? I definitely wouldn't he got torn apart last season multiple times. This is why I think we need to bring in another CB. Heard St. Ledger might be on his way out of Leicester? CHDAJFU? What's his favourite Westlife album? Just curious.

TopGun Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 Really? What's Seaborne like then? Is he in to golf? Does he like green vegtables? What's his favourite Westlife album? Just curious. Lol. I think Jaidi has done his time and also done the job we required from him. He was never that fast but was a good team player for us last year in L1. I'd imagine NA will be looking for a CB as a priority this month to help Fonte and Jos out.

doddisalegend Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 (edited) He has already said this season was going to be his last and that he wants to get into coaching (in preperation to becoming manager of his home country one day). By all accounts he played a big part in the team spirit last season and was a good guy to have around the place so prehaps he the club might let him stay and train as a coach. If he can get fit for the second half of the season he will be great cover at CB he isn't quick but his experince often makes up for that and quite frankly I haven't seen anyone clear the ball with their head this season like Jiadi can. If the oppostion play with a large bully of a Centre forward like Carew or Henderson Jaidi is perfect to play against them up against someone like Manyard he'd be skinned it's horses for courses really. saintfully Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 A fit Jaidi would definately be a plus for the squad. To say he couldn't do a job is to ignore the contributions made by Darren Moore and Linvoy Primus in other (despised) promoted teams.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 He did very well for us last season, but at his age regaining an acceptable level of fitness after such a long lay-off will take a age in all probability. He might just be capable of making some kind of contribution towards the tail end of the season I suppose - I wouldn't want to bet on it however. VectisSaint Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 Jaidi much better player and person than seaborne. Jaidi was a much better player than Seaborne last season. Unfortunately that is in the past, and I doubt either will figure in the team this season (or even ever again). This is why a new CB is a must. We fortunately got Jos as a late replacement for Seaborne (and what a star he has proved to be) but we still didn't address the fundamental issue that without Jaidi and DS we do not have a left sided CB for cover. Aaron Martin is a more than adequate backup for Jose (of course he isn't as good, thats why he is backup, but he is young and learning and will not let us down in an emergency). Our only backup for Jos is effectively Spiderman or Cork, and with Chaplow out long term we would be looking threadbare in CM if either were needed at CB for more than an odd game. Pip Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 I've just seen him down at the gym with some other injured players. He looks pretty fit considering he's been out for a while and he was certainly putting the effort in. I hope he gets back to play a few games for us in his last season but he'll be hard pressed to oust Jose or Jos.
RobM Posted 2 January, 2012 Share Posted 2 January, 2012 Perfect Sub. This. Get him fit and make him the first name on the bench every week. The sort of calm head, physical presence and experience that can calm us down when we need it. In those games we just need to kill off, he would be an asset.
