1976_Child Posted 26 December, 2008 Share Posted 26 December, 2008 I am actually beginning to think that Lowe want us to fail and end up in bankruptcy. Perhaps he is so twisted that he wants to stuff Crouch up the arse by making his shares worthless. So Lowe's shares become worthless but in his vindictive way he has the last laugh. And as the administrators walk him out of SMS after taking control he has a final moment of glory by shoving his middle finger up at the fans out side. Sod off Lowe. gordonToo Posted 26 December, 2008 Share Posted 26 December, 2008 I am actually beginning to think that Lowe want us to fail and end up in bankruptcy. That thought had crossed my mind as well but if the dressing room is being lost Lowe will have to act before January is out to avoid a total shambles. Much of the game is built on confidence and self belief and JP clearly hasn't been a source of either for some time.

The sad thing is they all believe they are actually doing good.... You're dead right, what a fookin joke! You can't get clearer warning signs than this (for the past months in fact), and teams have still gone down. With our goal difference, we're well on the way to droppin' even further. Yet Lowe and Wilde continue to do nothing. Absolute morons! Either someone has some surreptitious plan to pick the club up cheap in admin or are they just the most deluded, moronic bunch in modern day football?! (Surely they deserve to be beaten with some wooden spoon for believing in the concept in the first place)

InvictaSaint Posted 26 December, 2008 Share Posted 26 December, 2008 ******** it is. How can a rubbish squad in a rubbish position be compared to decent squads underperforming and getting us relegated or failing in promotion campaigns? I can't stand seeing good players underperform, but that clearly isn't the case here, we're just not very good. It's not fun but it's something we'll have to get used to. Incomparable to the relegation season, and even last season IMO which were without doubt the most infuriating I've ever known. Nobody - as far as I can ascertain - is claiming that our players are better than they are. What I and others cannot fathom is why a man who is CLEARLY out of his depth is not relieved of his duties to allow somebody who has better knowledge of this league, better knowledge of British football and better tactical astuteness to be given a chance to rescue what is fast becoming a train wreck of a season. Ask me if the combined 'expertise' of JP, MW, Dean Gorre and DH is a better economy than, say, one Nigel Pearson and I will point at our risible, woeful recent form, points total, wins total and goal tally and say 'no, it is not'. Does this mean another manager would guarantee anything better? Of course it ****ing doesn't; but it would be a damn sight better giving it a go with another man at the helm than simply carrying on like this, watching this cancer-ridden club slowly die. thorpie the sinner Posted 26 December, 2008 Share Posted 26 December, 2008 I am becoming more convinced that Lowe is trying to grind us into the ground, take administration, buy us on the cheap and sell up to the developers!!! if we had someone in charge who cared, we wouldn't have this manager or tem, we would be trying to make a difference!! The fcat that we don't means we are stuffed!!! It really is a case of last one out of St Marys, turn off the lights!!!! to think we were in the cup final 5 years ago and 4th in the premiership. Makes you want to cry!!!

The sad thing is they all believe they are actually doing good.... I don't know what our worst run of games is in our history but I know that in our relegation season a few years ago after 25 games we won 3, drew 9 and lost 13 for a total of 18 points, this season it's won 5, drew 7 and lost 13 for a total of 22 points so your claim that this is the worst run of games is in fact not true. Incomparable to the relegation season, and even last season IMO which were without doubt the most infuriating I've ever known. Think your find it is. When we drew 1-1 with Weds that was our worst home record since 1920 when we started league football. Since then we have gone on to lose 4 straight games to take the entire record now too. We find ourselves on 21 points from 25 games which is officially our worst run since we entered the league. You might not like it, might not agree with it but that is the facts. We have never been in as dire situation as we find ourselves in now. I went to the game today and i have been to majority of games this season. I can tell you right now this is the worst Saints side i have ever seen. Im not just saying that because of the results, im saying it because that is what they are. Football is about getting the ball into your opponents box and putting the ball in the net. While stopping the opponents getting the ball in yours. That is the aim of the game. We have failed to score in 11 of our games (out of 25). The team we have simply cannot play football. Passing the ball from one to another 35-40 yards away from the opponents goal does not mean they play good football. It means they can pass the ball, would you not expect a footballer at the very least to be able to do that? What happens after that is what matters and we have done nothing and looklike doing nothing. We do not get down the flanks and cross, we do not pile bodies in the box, we do not have anyone capable of holding the ball up, we have no-one capable of getting pass a player. Like Smith and Holmes today, everytime they get the ball they run about 2 meters then cut inside and loft the ball up which gets taken by the defender or keeper with ease. Any of us could do that. Passing does not make a good team. If football was a game based on getting the ball to halfway then a few yards into the opponents half then back to your own half again we would be world champions. Last years poor team were actually 13th this time last year.

St Marco Posted 26 December, 2008 Author Share Posted 26 December, 2008 (edited) Actually looking at http://www.soccerbot.com/fa/results/ukprem05x.htm?Team=Southampton SW is right that in TOTAL our first 25 games of the season our 04/05 season was actually a worse start. It is in fact our worst HOME record. Thankfully not the entire one because if we had less then 18 we would be bottom! The next few games are vital though as in the 04/05 season we actually went on to get 9 points from the next 5 games to mean 27 points at the 30 game mark. David Strover Posted 26 December, 2008 Share Posted 26 December, 2008 I might be wrong on some of these because I'm using my memory not research! Other records (since a league club) we could maybe beat or equal this season?: Worst defeat: 8-0, possible but ultimately unlikely but you never know. Worst home defeat: 6-0, this one could be at least equalled this season, we are that bad. Longest run without scoring: I believe this is seven games but I'm not sure. This could easily be beaten this season. Most consecutive defeats on the trot: I'm not sure of this one but I think it's six or seven. This will be beaten this season. Worst attendance: Some where around 1,040 versus Port Vale. Unless something really drastic happens can't see it being beaten - this season. 70's Mike Posted 26 December, 2008 Share Posted 26 December, 2008 I do not know if this is the worst season on our history as the original post said. I do not know if these are the worst players to wear the shirt. BUT i do believe this is the worst of the field team we have ever had, and i include Branfoot, they imo have no idea how to play in the CCC. They have no idea what their best side is and the worst aspect for me is that the Dutch national past time of being laid back has transmitted itself to the players who show no discipline during games

rpb Posted 26 December, 2008 Share Posted 26 December, 2008 Worst home defeat: 6-0, this one could be at least equalled this season, we are that bad. I remember that game because I wasn't allowed to go! It was an evening match and I had school the next day - we had Paine, Reeves and Livesey in our line up and less than 8 000 turned up. Ted Bates was the manager and the following season we were promoted from Div 3. Imagine what it would have been like on this board after that result if it had existed back in 1959...
