US now proposing that all visitors have to disclose their last 5 years of social media content along with phone contacts, email addresses etc, regardless of whether they need a visa or not as well as biometrics and a selfie for an ESTA application.

US plans to start checking all tourists' social media | US News | Sky News

I imagine Palantir or other mates of the orange gibbon like Elon will be allowed access to this info as well.

But what if you don't do Social Media ? I don't use X, TikTok, Instagram, or any other platform.  Just another reason NOT to visit the "Land of the Free". Is Trump so paranoid and afraid of criticism ?

Meanwhile under labour we have a record number if arrests for social media posts. The UK now leads the world in NO free speech. But nope, it's only Trump doing it.

We have free speech Nic. Fortunately we also have an increased intolerance for nasty bastards who go over the top and down the otherside. We also have people who are too thick (and usually bigoted) to understand the difference. I cast no aspersions of course.

Disagree. I dont think people have become less tolerant. The tolerance levels for reasonable challenge has softened, hence you get stupid stuff like the Graham Linehan incident. The police and judiciary are much keener to take action in relation to matters that, 15 years ago nobody would have sniffed at.

Observation....you never make a good point ever. Just personal attacks and emojis. Provide a half decent rebuttal if you disagree rather than attacking the character.

Because he and most of the others on the left cannot argue my points. It is what the left do. No answer = berate, shout, scream and stamp feet.

Hahahahahaha.... you are and your new mate are the ones who stamp their feet when we don't agree with your utter drivel.

You two are a perfect partners, one supports child poverty and the other is a trump/Putin apologist but the biggest connection is that you both are both stupid

1. Joey Barton.

2. 15 years ago people didn't post death threats to brown people on the web, rape threats to women, etc.

3. Etc.

You don't make points. You post babble, then claim it was a trap that proves that you have "outed" some other poster.  When people challenge you you put up a laughing emoji and disappear for a while, otherwise ignoring anything that shows you up for the petulant child you are.

No wonder people assume you like Trump.

I answered your point. You replied with a laughing emoji.

No answer= hide, laugh, and stamp feet.

I'm not on the left though.

I agree that social media has given a platform for people to stay things in public that they couldnt before but I still think those people would have held the views regardless. If anything I think people are less likely to say / do things that are discriminatory than say 10-15 years ago but maybe the platform is greater.

Considering I still have assets out there I think I may need to do a bit of a purge...

That's a terrible point. People holding views is completely different to people making threats and inciting violence viewable by the world at large.

Think it is safe to say Nic is monumentally thick, not sure about being a bigot though.

20th globally, according to this.

I think there are, like, 24 countries in the world, or something, so we're not quite leading the world in NO free speech.

Section on USA is interesting:

After a century of gradual expansion of press rights in the United States, the country is experiencing its first significant and prolonged decline in press freedom in modern history, and Donald Trump’s return to the presidency is greatly exacerbating the situation.

You have free speech in the USA if you support Trump. Ask awkward questions or show any kind of criticism towards the orange man baby and you are quickly shut down. In his second term Trump is turning America into an Oligarchy.
