another player that left too early imo.

he could have done with another year/18 months with us but the ££ flashed in his eyes.

you cant blame the young players for wanting to earn good money, after all we would all do the same, but they have to weigh up their long term earning potential against their short term gain.

He had a very good half season with us but faltered as soon as speculation about a move became public, as said above a talent like him needs guidance and when your manager puts you out there as a scapegoat and continues to criticise your whole team your confidence is gonna be on its arse and becomes infectious, their game on Saturday has me torn in respect of who I want to lose the most

I think Bale did move too soon but he needs nurturing at this time to re-build his confidence, just not sure SaggyChops is the right bloke to do it. He will make Bale a scape goat as some of the Tottenham fans appear to be doing. The games I've seen the defence is woefull & the least said about Gomez the better.

At the end of the day he may well have to take a step backwards to move forwards again.

As for the game on Sunday Really want bath teams to lose shame thats not possible guess a draw is the best result.

Obviously Redkrapp doesn't want him around so the money we got for him is beginning to look like a good deal. He could never defend even when here, I think people were fooled into thinking he was great 'cos he was good at stroming up the left side to the bye-line, but little ever came of it and the result nearly always was to leave his side of defence completely exposed.

It probably also serves to remind other clubs that despite all the bull**** rhetoric coming down from SMS towers about the quality of our youngsters, they probably aren't all that great and certainly not stars of tomorrow, which is why nobody is being suckered into paying daft wedges for Lallana and Surman who at best are good journey men

What planet are you on? Gareth Bale IS quality, period. Yes, he maybe suffering a dip in form but class is permanent and he is full of it. The lad is what 19 years old? and in only his second season in the premiership. Jeeez, give the guy a break.

how can you say class is permanent when he has only played well in a few games in the top flght...

it is looking like he is not as good as we liked to think before...

im sure he will become a steady prem player...but I doubt man u will be sniffing around again any time soon..

he has been extremely unluck with injuries meaning he has been in and out of the side. He hasn't always played left back for them either, In his first seaon he seemed to play left midfield most of the time.

OK so he dived in a couple of times and was well beaten - all shown up on TV - but IMO he is still a decent defender (as well as attacker). he has good pace, is good in the air, doesn't mind a tackle and doesn't ball watch. Add to this a fantastic first touch, good passing technique and the ability to actually beat people.

What he might be is a little niave. He also thinks that he is a little quicker than really is - so at times is not getting to the ball ahead of oponents - like he did constanty for us.

IMO he is a great talent and people quickly forget how important he was for us in our play off season. He was our entire attack at times.

Bale should have gone to Man utd where he could have learned his trade similar to Walcott at Arsenal who took his time to become a regular premier league player. Bale would not have replaced Evra but would have played a few times instead of O'Shea. Spurs fans are famous for being fickle whether it's the manager or players.

know they have changed manager but thought they would support him long term - looked like he had good quality to us although form dipped

The spuds are being a little harsh on him. Lets face it the reason they have lost so many was down to having a ****e manager who ripped out their team spirit.

Harry - despite his record here - isnt a ****e manager. Bale is a bloody good player.
