You’re right, but on a different note how long will it be before we see some copycat incidents of pupil/student unrest in the UK ? Seeing it on the news, it seems inevitable that some bastard will think that looks a good way of expressing some sentiment or other.
Farmer Saint Posted Sunday at 06:17 Posted Sunday at 06:17 Mindless violence - the French have always done this though, when they protest they really go for it. 1

Except they never burned down the 18th century historic buildings. I wonder what’s changed 🧐 Edited 20 hours ago by Osvaldorama 1

I would suggest spending some time reading and learning about civil unrest in France. Edited Sunday at 06:27 by Farmer Saint 1
Farmer Saint Posted Sunday at 06:29 Posted Sunday at 06:29 (edited) Some History homework for you Mr Mosley: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_incidents_of_civil_unrest_in_France Seems like your History knowledge is as patchy as your Economics. Edited Sunday at 06:32 by Farmer Saint 3

Possibly, although some of ours have previous form for similar actions (thinking Croydon 2011); https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2012/apr/11/rioter-fire-reeves-furniture-jailed

Its true, my son's primary school asked parents for a small donation to help with stationery, etc. Bit pissed as surely that should be provided as a given, but couldn't be arsed to form a protest to smash up the school like the French do Edited Sunday at 15:01 by skintsaint

Will only further the support for Marine Le Pen ahead of the elections. 2

badgerx16 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago From a person I know well ; The DWP received the paperwork for the renewal of their child's DLA claim on July 16th, the award needs renewing from October 24th. As of this morning the case has yet to be assessed.

I heard some of the programme around it yesterday. The part I heard had a number of people essentially trapped. The moment they do anything, like Brian in the article, they lose the support. They're then liable for rents that make working very counter-productive. They can't move elsewhere, because the money going to them goes to their support landlords. They have no savings to get a deposit elsewhere. And not working makes that very difficult anyway. The whole thing is something I'd have thought a Burnham government would be interested in sorting. I hope so.
