All I did was say no and left it at that and left your posts alone. Quite chilling when you look it at like that. You said to send me your email address to your PM, which I did, and you would send me the details so I could report them. You then signed that email address up to kiddie porn. Sir Ralph Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) British justice in two stories below. What a joke the police and judiciary are. Essentially the same sentence for throwing a plastic bottle compared to creating 5,000 indecent images of children in the school next door. Two tier is alive and kicking. And Danny Thompson has now only being arrested for criminal damage and refusing to give his mobile pin to the police (as everyone said there was nobody in the boat in the video). What a joke they are. Very little respect for them anymore. House or car robbed - not interested. Man cut illegal immigrant rubber dinghy - arrest and charge. I think there should be tougher sentences for pedals but I’m not laughing at that, just at you. Tougher sentences to deter only a certain category of people. Make 5000 indecent images of kids at the school next door, smuggle over 100 illegal immigrants across borders risking their lives and get the same sentence as throwing a small plastic bottle and swearing at the police. Those sentences deter the latter not the former and are very clearly two tier. Deter the protester throwing bottles but not the illegal immigrant smuggler or the pedo. Yes I’m pissed I used to respect the police / judiciary. With incoherent sentences like this not any more. I pay my tax for a fair police and judiciary not bullshit like this. Another thing reform need to address if they get in. Chat Gpts summary of the sentencing for similar offences in the BLM and illegal migrant protests. Of course the British police and judiciary are fair. The evidence does show a noticeable difference in overall outcomes. Following the 2024–26 anti-immigration/asylum-hotel disorder, people convicted of violent disorder have frequently received immediate prison sentences of roughly two to three years, with substantially longer terms for riot, serious arson or other aggravated offending. Serious violence also occurred around the 2020 BLM protests—including attacks on police—but there appears to have been a much smaller body of BLM participants receiving comparable multi-year sentences. Some BLM-related cases instead resulted in conditional cautions, acquittals or relatively modest sentences. Edited 23 hours ago by Sir Ralph 1

I suspect he didn't mean any harm to the bloke on board, and although he arguably could have been charged with more, the simple criminal damage keeps things in perspective. It'll be interesting to see how he pleads, and what happens if me has the temerity to go not guilty. 2

I agree if he broke the law technically he should be charged. However the charges are pathetic and for similar actions or even worse actions for others the police won’t even investigate. I wouldn’t have a problem if the police were consistent but they pick and choose their charges based on the situation. That is my beef even though I’ve said it ten times! Again my issue is the disparity in the policing approach for charging and sentencing. What do you make of the charging and sentencing differences between BLM and the illegal migrant protests? Looks like they are keener to deter some people than others. Edited 14 hours ago by Sir Ralph 1 1

It is easy to cherry pick "evidence" to support an argument. What you posted were 2 cases out of hundreds of thousands each year, that are assessed in an overworked and under resourced Legal system. There will always be anomalies, or even just sentences that you or I disagree with, when sentencing is based on the personal assessment of a Judge or Magistrate, working to politically created " Guidelines", and taking account of evidence and testimony that we are not party to. If you want consistency in sentencing then you would either have to take the human element out of the decision making process, or mandate specific fixed outcomes for every offence. EDIT: Out of curiosity, what sort of "evidence" would you expect somebody to produce to support a counter to your argument over inconsistent sentencing ? Edited 11 hours ago by badgerx16 1

My point initially was this thommo guy shouldn’t get a disproportionate sentence because of his political views and I hope he didn’t. I then provided the link to the examples yesterday and also to the BLM and illegal migrant protests. The approach to charging and sentencing across a wide sample is very clear for similar crimes. To me that is evidence of two tier in respect of these two protests. Circling then back to my original point. You either disagree with me with your own evidence or accept it.
