So, thinking about page views and the subsequent advertising income thus earned, two of the threads I started, "Donald Trump Appreciation" and "Brexit" gained, between them, around 2.8 million views. I reckon, using Adsense, that those two alone generated a minimum of £8k. So, how about some appreciation for me and less of the insults. This might be a socialist haven for the public sector "working class", but capitalism still rules, at least until this site is grant funded or the administrators supplement the running costs from their benefits.

What advertising?

I've never seen any.

Over at the Bursledon Windmill, Johnny has been drinking very strong cider all day to combat the cold. Even though alcoholism has driven away all of his family, any friends he ever had and made him a dinosaur of the forum of his favourite football club. Which he still can’t stay away from despite promising to ‘hang his keyboard up’ for good because his life is so empty.

I agree with OP, having started some big hitters: Russia and Coronavirus virus threads. Also Small things in life that annoy you although I do not this not for the money, more for the enjoyable polite discussion with my fellow Saints fans.

As important as ‘likes’ are there should also be remuneration for who ChatGPT considers the funniest

Likes and lols will always be the true benchmark of success. Some of the oddest posters on here have started threads with hundreds of posts. As we know threads can go off on a tangent and have multiple discussions within a thread. The measure of success as a poster is how many likes and lols you get and if you can repeat that consistently, kind of like your run rate and your highest individual score. For that im this forums love child of Don Bradman and Sachin Tendaulkar

Notnowcato would have a few Bob coming his way for the Carlton Palmer post - at least 80 laughing emojis on that one.

He’s not funding the site. In fact he’s embezzling the earnings in a secret bank account in the BVIs.

I heard Steve invested everything in an EU pesticide business but all the chemicals were toxic and made everyone ill so it's not going very well.

Just wanted to say cheers to Steve and the admins for this year's pay out which popped into my bank account just after Christmas as usual 👍

Look, I'm just a guy posting a few thoughts and stupid comments on a football forum but if I get a little bit of pocket money from that then I'm honoured and very grateful for my little slice of the subscription money.

Anyway, long story short, despite my worries it turns out a 65-inch OLED TV does fit above my fireplace. Thanks everyone

I'm afraid your wages are a bit high for the Championship, we're working on a loan deal to KUMB or possibly the UK squash forum.

We're going for the hipster option, street food in Elephant and Castle.

It's a good aim to have. It does come with its challenges though. You'll always find a small group of people, usually driven by jealousy, that will try to put you off your stride. I've always believed the only people who criticise you are the ones who cant do what you can do. Look at my haters on here, generally bitter, angry people with chips on their shoulders, they've never got many laughs or likes on their posts. Lions do not care for the opinions of sheep RedArmy.

Don't get too disheartened if your overall goal is unrealistic. Getting a decent percentage of that number of laughing emojis is an achievement itself. Not to mention the enjoyment you'll be giving others with your humour, which is priceless.
