Sheaf Saint Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I can't wait for @SaintsRoyalty to come along and tell us all how we're so wrong, and that he was the only one who could see that Bragg was in fact absolutely gash yesterday. 5

Swaythling Saint Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Very composed in the centre yesterday, another one that's come on under Tonda! 1
Saint Pete Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Another calm, assured performance from Cameron, I thought he justified the confidence shown in him by Tonda to start him ahead of Charles. He doesn't do anything spectacular, but is one of those midfielders who keeps things ticking over nicely, I like that he seems to take time to think about the passes he makes and tries to make a forward pass if he can rather than always sideways or back. Also think he made a few key interceptions/tackles yesterday when City were breaking. Really don't understand any criticism of his performances in a Saints shirt so far, think he has shown great promise. 8
Harry_SFC Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I think he's got a higher ceiling than JWP did. Seems a bit quicker, better defensively and actually passes the ball forwards. Just not the free kicks.

Probably needs to be getting minutes against Premier League opposition because he certainly showed against Arsenal and Man City he's got the credentials.

Think I’ll reserve judgement on that, JWP was a key player for us in the premier league and made the England squad! He was just below the standard required to be a top premier league player and is among the best we have ever produced. Bragg has made a great start but let’s not get carried away just yet if Bragg reaches JWP levels he will have done extremely well and we will have another great player. 1

Jesus, thats a big shout... youre talking about a decent level prem player for 15 odd years, with goals and assists regularly in his game. 2

I think in reality JWP is/was a lower end PL player at best. Hence why it hasn't worked out for him anywhere else and didn't work out for England. Don't get me wrong, his free kicks and set pieces in general were great and he worked his socks off. But I think he's fairly overrated because of that. Edited Tuesday at 16:39 by Harry_SFC

Good enough to be decent for us in the premier league but shit enough that no one would want him while we were. If we didn’t get relegated would He get a better offer? 100% no. Let’s remember that that is what £30m get you these days. It ain’t a lot, just because we’ve been conditioned otherwise with our transfer deals 2
