Behold the most generous doormat in the world. The funding for EU students is contingent on the UK being included in an EU industrial bloc and thereby avoided additional costs and tariffs. The 30 years is the time an illegal would have to be in the country before qualifying for Indefinite Leave to Remsin - not a visa. There won't be restitution for slavery. If you are a sane, rational person who can perform simple maths and cares about the economy of their country and the future of the people within it, then you should be livid with the government this morning. There is no part of the proposed EU reset terms, that you should be remotely happy about. The entire deal is giving the EU what it wants, and dressing it up as a benefit for the UK when it is anything but. - Promising to not deport EU criminals - Paying billions a year to build infrastructure in Eastern Europe - Subsidizing EU students to study in the UK, costing hundreds of millions a year - Putting UK laws in the control of the EU again, with no say at all from Parliament - Adding hundreds of millions of costs onto imports from non-EU countries - Making imported EV cars 30% more expensive, to help EU car manufacturers - Giving 80-100,000 extra youth visas a year, increasing competition and driving down wages for our unemployed youth - Stopping checks on imported agrifoods, increasing risk of diseases currently rampant in EU livestock entering the UK All of this with the reason of making exporting food to the EU easier, which we do virtually none of and never did, as we are an island that consumes more than it produces. It doesn't matter if you ultimately want to rejoin the EU or not. This isn't about that. This is about an atrocious deal and our atrocious government. Edited yesterday at 10:42 by Osvaldorama 2

Burnham has been slow and steady, and made sensible noises re the EU, and that's what we've needed. 2 1

This new one is being introduced because there are over 30 thousand Ukrainian children in the UK, having been displaced by Putin's invasion, who have only had the option of studying Russian up to now. But as you don't think we should be supporting Ukraine in any way, I am not surprised by your total lack of empathy. Edited 7 hours ago by badgerx16 3

Ask someone who's arrived here from Afghanistan, for example, if they'd have come if we weren't smashing up and meddling on their country. The answer, and it's honest, is nearly always no. Everyone wants stability and hope. 2

They should try building up a society rather than wrecking it, and looking to us for handouts whilst contributing nothing to the world.

Hey getting you your takeaway promptly ensuring it is still hot, never mind ignoring the Highway Code, whatever that means nowadays, and riding on the pavement, cannot be considered ‘contributing nothing’ 2

I am guessing fuck all I bet Ossie supports the study of German Literature - as long as it includes Mein Kampf as a core text. Probably the only text. As one of the Nazi saluting blokes said on YouTube from Portsmouth Patriots, it blows your mind when you read in English.
