RIP Kevin Miller

Some sad news. Kevin Miller has passed away at the age of 57. Played 7 games for us back in 2006/07.

KM did well for us when he came out of retirement to cover Bart and Paul Smith, must have been in his late 30s.

Great guy was Kev. I used to deal with him when he was goalie coach at Exeter.  Loaned a few keepers from him. Gutted.

Signed for us in unusual circumstances, coming out of retirement to play for us during an injury crisis. Expectations were incredibly low on Saintsforever as I recall, but we went on a very good run at the end of the season and he played his part in that, coming out with a lot of credit.

We appear to be the only one of his former clubs yet to acknowledge it. Then again we almost had to shame them into acknowledging Chris Nicholl's passing, so unsurprising.

Played an important role in avoiding relegation in 2005/6.

Blimey that is no age. Very sad to hear.

I didn't see the debut at Burnley, but did go to the other six games, five of which we won. Of the new recruits, Chaplow may have caught the eye in those crucial games that took us away from relegation, but we were in desperate need of some solidity between the sticks, and he provided that. At 36, he lacked a little agility and mobility, but he was a safe pair of hands with decent positioning. The back looked a lot more confident with him behind them. He did a great job for us.
