OldNick Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 Would the fans stomach higher prices for their tickets and the club run to make money? That is something we have to face up to.If we dont get taken over by someone who doesnt care if they run at a loss then what? it is something we should thuink about, the knight in shining armour may want a return on his investment. Katalinic Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 I think we need to look at a club like Exeter City, run by the fans for the fans. They came out of administration and have built slowly and sensibly. I accept we are a bigger proposition and the circumstances around debt much higher and complicated however if there is no saviour stepping forward then the choices may be to either run it ourselves or let it die. Or was there a contributing factor to this!!!

Or was there a contributing factor to this!!! Not my man, he is just part of a poor bunch. I think you are in dreamland if you say we are charging Pl prices.I went and watched Bournemouth and they charge £16 for bottom L2. Perhaps when we were in the Pl the prices are similar but Im sure the PL seats now are a lot more. It shows though that even though we charged quite a lot we were still losing money, tell me how we stop doing so.It is not down to the CEO's salary. krissyboy31 Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 I think the trick is to get more bums on seats. Hiking the prices, especially in this economic climate, is not going to do this. Get people into the stadium on a regular basis (cheaper ST's, half ST's, blocks of tickets etc), will increase revenue and sales of matchday merchandise. Also away from PLC structure, the club can launch other money raising events, such as a 'Golden Goal/Matchday Lottery, which over the course of a season could raise a decent amount of cash. OldNick Posted 2 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 2 April, 2009 No, not with the credit crunch. Current prices are fine, we just need people to come back and fill the stadium. We could double some of our attendences this season. That's a hell of a lot more income. All fair and true.
Saint_clark Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 Worlds biggest IF imo It's either get taken over or drop out of the football league/go into liquidation.

PaulSaint Posted 2 April, 2009 Share Posted 2 April, 2009 As a STH I normally buy early to keep the costs down, last year it was called March Madness I believe. Each game worked out around £14 or something? I would be happy this year to renew but only save a few bob, say £20 per game? Am also happy for fans who buy on a per match basis to get them at say £21 each?
