Window Cleaner Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 I hear Salz is a big shot lawyer. So would he/could he take on the league and win over the points docking??? I honestly doubt that Mr Salz has sufficient funds to be a significant part of a consortium to buy out the club. 15/20 million is the going rate, that's a lot of money. EastleighSoulBoy Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 I understand Mr Salz to be a well respected man in the city. I'm sure that if only out of curiosity he will have looked at the wording of all the charges and findings. He is more than likely to be fully aware of how SLH/SFC are or are not connected. He will also have probably weighed up any such chances an appeal may stand. He doesn't strike me as a man who would offer his opinion unasked (not like us lot then!) but would, I'm sure, 'look at things' if so asked. I think SFC might do well to not only ask his opinion but furthermore abide by it? He's not daft (unlike a lot of us on here!).

You could be right here. If that is the correct amount needed I think the Salz consortium could founder. A shame because they are all well respected business men and fans too boot, but there would be little point unless they then had reasonable funds to make a difference. Of course if they were the only game in town I would be very grateful to have them at all, but reading between a few lines on here, perhaps there are others who are seriously interested. Fingers crossed.
Matthew Le God Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 Even if he doesn't bid, as a Saints fan he should offer his legal services to the club for free(or at a much reduced rate) imo

He's said to have a fine legal brain but as we all know the law has limits, it's mainly about argueing your case with reference to statutes and former cases, it's not an inventive or reckless profession where big balls win the day. bridge too far Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 I know it's been posted before, but his CV makes for interesting reading. He sounds like a really nice person. http://www.moneyweek.com/news-and-charts/anthony-salz-the-city-lawyer-everyone-wants-to-hire.aspx But I get the impression his specialty is mergers and takeovers (), rather than courts. However, he'd have contacts, surely?

I don't know if he's even a trial lawyer or a QC or whatever,a barrister or a solicitor ? I don't know that much about him..

Fingers crossed. The minimum proof of funds figure already required and passed for the two existing bidders is enormous. The league may have ****ed up. the 10 points is being deducted for a breach of insolvency regulations, specifically not co-operating with the league's investigators Grant Thornton. However the league had issued different, conflicting briefs to the two parties and the club rightly insisted GT comply with the one the club had been supplied by the league. GT then walked out. Interesting I think, I can't see it being left there. I'm not totally sure but I don't think Salz is heading up either of the two potential bidders, he may be the third one yet to prove funds. The NDA's are working and there is no clue about who exactly, although there are little leaks from both side about where they are. Saint Charlie Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 So Derry you wouldn't buy any of this Lowe returning stuff? Do you think we will more than likely have foreign owners?
derry Posted 26 April, 2009 Share Posted 26 April, 2009 So Derry you wouldn't buy any of this Lowe returning stuff? Do you think we will more than likely have foreign owners? No I don't, nobody in their right mind putting up the sort of money they are, would allow the sort of background that there has been, occur again. If the fans kicked off and refused to back the club they could lose an enormous amount of money. There is no way they wouldn't know this. I have a suspicion one may be, I don't know for certain.
