For those who won't be getting a season ticket next year

For many owning a season ticket isn't an option for myriad reasons but there's no reason why everyone can't do their bit by purchasing a membership for £20.

I've not bothered with a membership for the past few seasons, but if we get new owners i'll be buying one. Not because i think it'll be necessary, but because it'll help the club.

I'd urge everyone not buying a season ticket to buy a membership.

I know of several people who have been able to buy match tickets online using membership numbers from previous years that were not renewed. The club needs to make it's online ticketing system more robust so people can't continue to do this.

It may only be £20 per person, but if all those people HAD paid that extra £20 it all adds up.

I may do this.

Not being picky - but so what if you can buy tickets online without re-newing the membership? If you are a customer surely it is your choice as to how you buy a ticket - online or at the ticket office?

For once in my life I believe I should invest in a season ticket to give the club the must needed injection of cash. Sure I won't be there every game, and may spend more visiting other stadiums - but that doesn't seem to matter.

However I think I will only do this is the club's new owners show so balls in changing the ethos at SMS. We need an experienced manager, a new squad of experienced and young hungry players to compliment our own rising stars. I read somewhere that Norwich has already sold over 19,000 STs for next season - I'd like to think we could at least match this now Rupert is gone.

New hope could generate a significant income stream for next year at -10points or not.

My only fear is that 3-seasons of dross has turned people off, and even the likes of MLT coming back will not be enough. The team needs to start performing from the start next season then then crowds may return. Being entertained is one thing - losing virtually every other week at SMS is unacceptable.

Sort out the defence, gets some balls in midfield, and find someone who isn't scared of scoring and we may be on to a winner. So in summary they may get my money if:

1. There is an experienced MAnager in place

2. We invest in some full backs

3. We add some steel to midfield

4. We get a goalscorer

5. No more televised games...until we draw a big gun in the FA Cup!

Well at least next season we won't have a TV jinx to worry about - can't see Div 1 being televised live can I?

Very good call.

It would be unthinkable imho for those of us who love the club so much not to be members if we are not able to attend every match and purchase a Season Ticket.

Good shout. Have let my family's memberships go in recent seasons as tickets are easily available when required but got caught out in the play-off season when I couldn't get tickets.

Lets get the membership levels up.

Surely the membership needs to be rebadged and jazzed up a bit.

I would go for something like £30 quid to join - but you get one free match ticket for every membership. This would encourage a few people to sign up. Also get a significant discount on a future game. Plus the already associated benefits (whatever they are) So if you get 100 000 members - Brings in £3m -

Obviously this will help get a few sell outs next season - They really do need to hit the ground running with a few good initiatives and marketing ideas - A new start means with regard to everything! Lots of Drive, Lots of enthusiasm. lots of passion.... as someone said Lets Have Fun in League One!!!

What does buying a membership actually entitle you to?

Not a lot to be honest, priority on tickets for small capacity away days and play-off games is the only reason you'd need one, but like i say it's a good way of supporting the new owners.

lots of things to weigh up before i buy the three i have had at sms since it opened:-

1) will youngest son (14) want to go

2) will eldest son , who is in his 3rd year at uni, be living near enough to go to home games

3) cost

4) if i am going on my home will i go to every game , so is a season ticket cost effective

5) is rupert involved in any way shape or form

I have had a ST for 23 years last season was the worst of the lot including the Branfoot days, there are one or two who will say I will damage the club but the bottom line is.

Lowe involved I will not renew.

I shall be buying my first season ticket this year and a junior membership for my son who has just turned one. He won't be coming to any games obviously but I want him in that junior saints thing. Sooner a buyer is sorted out and they go on sale the better!

Hmmm ... may have even overreached my own optimistic goals with that one... How about 30 000 members as an initial target! achievable with the fact that you get a icket with your membership.

I admire your optimism but I reckon if we get between 5,000 - 10,000 we'll be lucky !

I will be gettin membership for myself

Does anyone know what free gifts the kids will get with their junior membership?

They always used to be worth the cost alone before you even considered using them to buy tickets, if they are still worth will get my nieces in australia junior membership

'Of good and evil much they argued then,

Of happiness and final misery,

Passion and apathy, and glory and shame,

Vain wisdom all, and false philosophy'.

Milton - Paradise (still) lost

Many haven't agreed with me but my passion and commitment to the club has never wavered regardless of my personal opinions.

Stanley you represent everything that is apathetic and shameful about football supporters and unfortunately we have more than our fair share and it's highly ironic indeed that you choose to bump this thread today not knowing if greater evils personal to you lie ahead that may yet cause you to reverse quicker than an Italian tank.

Please ignore the troll.

The thread shouldn't be ruined on account of Nineteen Canteen.

I will be getting my seat back for next season on a season ticket...

If that doesn't get the troll fishing, nothing will...
