Bailey Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_5355785,00.html If he doesn't lower his wage demands even more, he could end up playing for us in League One next season!

rocknrollman no2 Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 He could definately be good for us at this level.but could we afford him and would he be motivated enough?
Arizona Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 Nigel Pearson may rescue him? Ras never played for Pearson, so there's no reason for that to be the case.
lee_saint Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 He could definately be good for us at this level.but could we afford him and would he be motivated enough? That's what I was thinking, he could be half decent but again, he is going to cost alot.
saintwarwick Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 He could definately be good for us at this level.but could we afford him and would he be motivated enough? Agreed, can see him scoring a few in league one but as you say will he be motivated enough. Maybe his wage demands will have an influence on this. 70's Mike Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 He could definately be good for us at this level.but could we afford him and would he be motivated enough? oh dear looks like i am in the monority on this one imo he would be usless at this level because of lack of mobility imo we need to be looking at talent in the non league etc unless we are going to have a fortune to invest in new players

I'll have you know that tatty old Swedish cars - when they actually were Swedish - are brilliant. Mine's a Saab. Wouldn't touch a new one though. suewhistle Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 Goodness knows what he spends it all on, I once saw him in a petrol station driving a tatty old Volvo! Perhaps he's more intelligent than the average footballer who ****es their money up the wall and buys cars that depreciate the moment they leave the dealers. He's probably setting himself up nicely for when he has to leave lucrative English football, which might be soon by the looks of it!
St Chalet Posted 30 May, 2009 Share Posted 30 May, 2009 To be honest I drive a tatty old car to avoid getting my decent one having to leave the garage and be keyed by scroats or door bumped at the supermarket etc. A car does not maketh the man. SNSUN Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 I doubt he'd play for us in League One. If he failed to lower his wage demands, I'd still expect to see him go back out on loan, with Saints funding part of his wages. Seems to be the only way of avoiding paying his full wages if we can't sell him,.
OldNick Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 Lets hope it is only posturing by Watford so they dont have to pay a fee for him

krissyboy31 Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 We can afford him now. But will he play for us? Possibly but the new owners will not want to pay that sort of wage, while we are in League 1 and nor should they.
SaintRobbie Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 Possibly but the new owners will not want to pay that sort of wage, while we are in League 1 and nor should they. Probably right. But to be honest the decision to take him back should not be in the hands of our owners anyway.... but with our new EXPERIENCED MANAGER.
Chez Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 We can afford him now. But will he play for us? what makes you think that? Rasiak is on massive wage and only a side pushing for promotion into the Prem with a parachute payment can afford him IMO.

Rasiak is on massive wage and only a side pushing for promotion into the Prem with a parachute payment can afford him IMO. I don't think the new people will want to retain a 30 year old on that wage but the CCC clubs interested so far are not in great shape - Watford's parachute payments are over and Wednesday are heavily in debt and can't even afford to pay Adebola what he was on at Bristol City. The parachute sides or the newly relegated may swoop for Greg nearer K.O to the new season as they miss out on other targets although we'd have to waive a fee to save on the wages.
