People on this podcast yesterday seemed to be suggesting the Romeu fitness issues told by TE were "bullshit". Do they care to explain why they really think he's being kept out of the team?
-
It’s not about staying or leaving though in reality, is it? On paper would we love better owners/to be better run, I’d probably put that figure at 100% if you can guarantee the alternative is better, but the alternative is unknown. It’s not a choice between SR and someone else right now. The SR out clamour whilst is a wonderful sentiment, what’s the plan? They can’t just leave, you have to find a buyer and make it worth both sides time to do business. I always find ownership protests a bit odd for that reason. Understandable if the owner is refusing to budge etc but in this scenario what good do people expect to come from it? That’s on top of the fact that any form of protest that involves going to the ground, using their facilities and paying for a ticket is really not damaging at all.

Because Grealish was a loan, a signing to help them now and not the future and plays in a different position presumably.
-
I’ve said this before but it’s a tactical thing. His best stuff came when the team was designed to move him from wide to inside and pick up the ball of the half turn and run at players centrally. Not put out wide and cutting in which is what he’s been asked to do for a while now. Disciplined football doesn’t suit him. Also probably could do with playing with some of the better players and an overlapping right back rather than getting his game time when they are struggling for numbers. Think Everton’s owners would expect more from Moyes at some stage and move on personally over the next year or so. Dibling will outlast Moyes there and their next managerial appointment will be big for Tyler. Think the people writing him off and calling him whatever need to have a look at themselves though.
-
Sorry, what? When and where?
-
Would make a little bit of sense as their keeper is injured.
-
Yeah didn’t say it’s NOTHING to do with the manager did I. Honestly, you’ve got to be better at the quoting thing.
-
TE's points per game record in the league this season is better than Wilders so I'd really save this hill to die on until next week at least if I were you.
-
I think the post and the first page of the thread I reference show why I called you a misogynist to be fair. But hey let’s ignore that I’ve proven you wrong about the Wilder point if you like. Can we focus on that ‘Mr Wrong’ title though, surely fully grown men can come up with something better than that?
-
You were bang on except for the useful bit. As I called in the summer. And as AustSaint particularly asked me to judge him in a months time (posted 15th December), I'm just doing that. And if we're doing reminders of what was actually said, post Wilders first game as Sheffield United manager these are the posts I made about that situation. Nothing about him not turning anything around. Just facts and opinions I have remained consistent with. There's also an extra post about you being a misogynist too so well done me all round me thinks. I've paid a fiver foolishly. I'm getting my moneys worth.
-
At this stage I'd love to repost my thoughts on Romeu signing and also yours and austsaints thoughts but I dont want to be accused of having a superiority complex again and the mods will only delete it anyway. Also my sarcastic posts after a manager with experience losing some games isn't the big win you think it is. Shocking revelation but managers with experience and without it will have different runs of form throughout the season. I'll continue to stand by the point that having an experienced manager or not will not drastically change results if you don't change the core qualities of the playing group, but hey, have it if you like. I need to turn this baying crowd around somehow apparently
-
Yeah you've come to this "fight" twenty minutes late fella. You're welcome to come and call me a prick in person if you like. You know who I am obviously. Umm, this would be insightful if it wasn't in response to a conversation that started because of (a now deleted post) me being right about Romeu.
-
The post you responded to was literally me responding to someone else asking me to check in on Romeu in a month and trying to have a dig at me and my "hyperbole" and "wisdom". I'll have a think about it and rightfully respond to it again if needed. Just as everyone has a right to call me a cock or whatever.
-
Which is perfectly reasonable and how it should have been sold initially. Don't think the timing, framing and PR around the signing have helped him at all. Was always going to be a struggle given he'd presumably had little pre season.
-
Haha that is daft, I had no issue with it. Silly mods.
-
Closest you've come to getting my identify right to be fair, amongst numerous attempts. Well done for finally getting there.
-
I was making a flippant comment about a post I'd just responded to in another thread. Maybe I'm either of those things, maybe I'm one of the many people I've been accused of being on here, or maybe I'm a fan of the club who just enjoys laughing at the nonsense on here and responding to it. But oh nooo, some people on an internet forum aren't cheering me on, what purpose do I have now?
-
Yeah I can really see Thomas Frank going from working for a Champions League club, his first sacking and picking a club midtable in the Championship who would be on their 5th manager in a year. It's almost impossible to resist picking fights on here.
-
Just worth remembering we’ve finished behind Ipswich and Leicester two years in a row.
-
Please please please buy a striker who can get us up the pitch or win a foul when in a bit of trouble.
-
Genuinely came on here expecting a bit of praise for ‘finally changing to 4 at the back and getting a tune of them like we all said he should’ and then making a tactical change that nullified the threat when the players shit the bed like they always do 😂
-
Oooh so like a 3 cb on the pitch kind of situation? With a player playing slightly out of position but also one he knows well enough, like for example…fellows? btw number of games Jelert has been back for has included a cameo off the bench where he directly replaced the attacking genius who we’re completely mis using in Fellows and managed to get an assist and one where he played RWB and we got a clean sheet. The final game he’s been available for was Boro which if said attacking genius who we’re completely misusing could shoot, we’d have faired a lot better.
-
Having someone available to play at right back isn’t an excuse is it? It’s an explanation. If you want to miraculously come up with a fit right back we’ve had available then we’re all ears. Also if he’s weak now suddenly changing the formation, if he does, then does that mean you’d rather he didn’t?
-
I know what your point was and to clarify I’m saying it’s not true that he’s been mediocre at best. Slightly before Xmas (when I last checked) he was at the top end of performance charts similar to the ones he was with us. He had intercepted the ball more times than anyone had in a game this season against Brighton and was one of the best interceptors in Europe, just like he was when he was playing for us. He was in the top 5 of pass success in the league. His match ratings (albeit these are subjective) are consistently high.
-
Not sure that’s true. Pretty sure his performances have remained pretty consistent with when he played for us.
