The player we should have brought to replace Mane... Sisto. Won’t come cheap though, so probably a no go.
-
I want to see England do well, just as much as I do saints. He done a f ucking terrible job over the past 3 years (its actually been going on longer than most realise, just look at the state of the academy). I’m worried for England, tbh. He doesn’t deserve the job, like he didn’t deserve the role he had with us, but Les’ best attribute is the ability to blag his way to the top! All the best to him, I hope he does well as that would be a successful England team.
-
I’d say fan behaviour is at an all time low. Yesterday I came across some weirdo on twitter (owen saints or something) who films himself / his reactions at games. He even fimiled himself crying with the loss to Cardiff. What an absolute weapon. Shameful that this is what modern football has become.
-
I don’t believe any player had the tools to reach or play at their best under the previous 2/3 clowns we’ve had in charge issuing little to no tactical instructions.
-
Lemina is top class and as I said (and was shot down for) a year ago, he’d get in any team in the PL, other than maybe city. We need him this year. That being said, if we do sell him, I’d be doing what I could to bring back Wanyama, who’d suit our new style perfectly imo
-
Last I heard, last week, was that talks still on going. There is some interest from his side but a lot needs to be done (it’d result in a bit of a reshuffle in terms of removing staff etc..). A few staff members still here who he had a disagreement with in his last stint... apparently. I’d love him back and have been an advocate of him replacing Les since things went tits with with Reed. Also, I believe Ralph H came with under the impression he’d be working under a DOF type figure. Not sure there’s a great deal in the United link as I think he had a disagreement with Poch/Levy whilst at Spurs. I can see him coming to us, but it won’t be any time soon. Personally I’d pay him and give him what he wants. Let him effectively run the football side of things.
-
In fairness, Ralph had a very good reputation in football before he joined us. He’d been touted for pretty much every big job in Germany and by all accounts it was a surprise he came here. A big if, but 6 good months and we finish mid-table, he’ll be in a very strong position for a role at someone like Spurs. That being said, if Tottenham need to move this summer I think it’d be Howe.
-
Not worried about United, at all. They seem to be a club without any clear strategy at the moment (a bit like us under les) and anyone who goes in will be expected to achieve something instantly. I can’t see them going for Ralph and I think they’ll go for a ‘proven’ big name, like they did with Jose. Also, I can’t see Ralph buying into them at the moment either... apparently he turned down Munich in the summer as he felt he ‘wasn’t ready’. Tottenham does worry me though. A club with a similar philosophy to us but on a larger scale. Porch won’t leave mid season and I very much doubt he’ll go to United, but I can see him moving to Madrid in the summer.

Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often
SKD replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
For me that was a main part of the problem. He got caught out of poistion far to often leaving space for HM to pick the ball up in the pockets. It could have been the instructions, but at times he was running like a headless chicken. I’d have prefered to see him more controlled sitting in front of the back 3. Personally I don’t think he’s suited to play in a 2, he’s better at the base of a 3, imo -
“Position in the table is alright. Results are poor. Performances are diabolical. I used to be smiling or annoyed all weekend, depending on whether Leicester won or lost. Now I'm just indifferent at either result. That's the Puel effect. Puel out. I want to love football again.“ Mad... wouldn’t have looked out of place on our Puel thread. Nice bloke, not got the personality for English football
-
Not sure pep is the leader we need. We need an organiser at the back, not a headless thug.
-
He was very close to going earlier this season, then what happened with the owner brought him a bit of time (tightly so, imo). I’ll be amazed if he lasts the season. On another note, poch wins his 100th game as Tottenham manager.... the greatest manager to ever manage saints? Up there for me... not obviously at the time of managing us, but what he’ll go on to achieve etc.
-
We’ve got a Röhl with it, To help out Hasenhüttle, They make us play in the way That we want a saints team to play, Cos the last 2 years, were too much to take Roll with it - Oasis (Needs a bit/lot of work )
-
Never wanted to leave in the first place. I’d love him back, but can’t see it happening personally. He’d certainly do a better job than Kelv as first team coach.
-
I don’t know if it’s me being naive, stupid or both but I fancy us to nick something here... 2-1 win after going 2-0 up early
-
Great academy players who never made it in the first team

He’s currently playing in Hampshire league. -
Poor player, always has been, always will be. Our squad is littered with slow, average players on disgusting wages... thanks les

Reminds me of Koeman with the authority and stature he gives off when speaking. Really enjoyed listening to his interview and that’s the first time I’ve said that in 3 years. His style appears to be a hybrid of Poch’s high intensity, hard working, pressing and Koemans direct, fast build up. A real shame he didn’t come in 3 season ago instead of Puel and he has a massive job turning these unfit, lazy, unconfident bunch around but I’m arguably the most excited I’ve been as a saints fan since I can remember
-
A loss, 2-1 my guess. Their 2 coming from either a long throw, corner or free kick. Even pep couldn’t turn our shambles of a back 4 around in 2 days and about the only thing Cardiff are good at is pumping the ball into the box. Vest has to start imo otherwise we’re way to small and weak to deal with their aerial presence.

This is why stats don’t work or paint the full picture.. Let’s take Armstrong’s goal against United, for example. Good skill and feet from Redmond who took out 3/4 United players and then laid the ball off to Obefami who got the assist for playing in Armstrong.. the reality is, Redmond done all the hard work there, but doesn’t get credited for an assist or ‘key pass’. Whilst I’m not Redmonds greatest fan, it’s clear from watching he’s our most effective player at the moment. He might not get key passes or assists, but he creates space for others, such as Armstrong and our CF as he pulls 1 or 2 odefenders out of the game. Credit where it’s due, Redmond has been very good this season, more effective than JWP has ever been, IMO

Welbeck has only recently suffered an awful ankle break (think it was a break), unless he’s willing to significantly drop his wages i’d Stay well away
-
I can’t say I know a massive amount about this bloke, but from what I have seen I’m excited. I’ve done a lot of research today/this evening and from what I can see, he looks a hybrid of Poch and Koeman and I think his style will really suit the PL, at the very least keep us entertained. It looks like he has the press which we all loved under poch, but also that directness and pace on the counter which was fantastic under Koeman. I can see Long doing well under this bloke, like he did under Koeman. My only concern is we don’t really have a great deal of pace out wide. Looks like he’s varied his tactics from a 433 to 4222. Personally given our squad, I hope he goes for 433. If he can get an extra 5/10% out of the squad then we’ll easily stay up... a risk, as all appointments are, but I’m very very excited for Saturday, now. Still rather cautious that this is saints, so I won’t get too carried away until I see it on the OS....
-
So he may be our manager or he may not.... top work from sky again. Personally sounds too good to be true, so I’m thinking it is... expecting Flores myself
-
Our troubles started when Reed and Fonte fell out and the club (as at management level) lost the dressing room.
-
All well and good but we’ve got no one left to sell we might be able to pull £20-£30m for Lemina, Cedric Bertrand and McCarthy but I can’t see many takers for anyone else... Long long long road ahead until these *****s sell up
