  1. It should be subject to the same laws as any other public location in the UK, with a hint of practicality regarding enforcement when 20,000 people are swearing at the same time. Saying cooooooont is still pretty distasteful to the majority (just about) and I think it's a reasonable request to tone it down. Pretty much any other non-illegal non-hate crime type stuff I'm fine with.
  2. I was about to point out that no-one needs a quiet word to know that's not a progression. Newport just stuck 3 on them in the JPT with their reserve team (and in the middle of their 4 month long injury crisis), remember? Also, Appleton's available isn't he?
  3. We have about 20-30 songs, and this is still the worst of them. Current version with exact words as being sung according to this thread : What's Tell Is it this us how it feels to be Pompey What's Tell Is it this us how it feels to be poor small You you've got signed sacked Whittingham We we've signed got Pochettinooooooo... It is rubbish.
  4. Yeah, but who do you think should win SPOTY?
  5. Interesting colour choices, fluorescent greeny-yellow and navy. I think West Brom have had this training colourway since August and at least one of the other Prem sides (possibly Stoke) was warming up in the same stuff the weekend gone.
  6. Presumably because this way Saints get a larger percentage of the profits, as they are the retailer and get all the mark up. Whether that's still more money than the club would get from getting a smaller amount of revenue per kit item (but probably selling far more of them due to impulse buys, convenience, higher profile, etc.) is obviously a decision that's been consciously made. Nice to see Cortese and Lowe can agree on one thing, anyway.
  7. Really interesting read. I am amused that he said if he had Lambert's build he wouldn't move at all.
  8. Thanks to Benj for presenting that in a legible format, I wouldn't have read it otherwise.
  9. I'm not sure he is actually injured at all, his missus has just had a kid 3 days ago, seems perfectly reasonable that if we weren't expecting him to start he'd get time off to be with her. He's very much on the periphery at the moment but we all know he can do a job if called upon. As long as it doesn't involve shooting.
  10. They stopped being a regular second division team for a start.
  11. It's because they're all in the pubs watching it for free instead.
  12. I'm more than happy for others to do this.
  13. "Who cares?" is an old school delldays gambit. Whatever happened to that guy?
  14. Actually, it IS more that there's a very different attitude generally to getting utterly bladdered with your workmates in south Wales as there is in Winchester. I was still going out and getting trashed on payday, civil service half days, etc long after getting into long term relationship(s) up there, even as a manager. Then again I'm 10 years older as well. It just isn't the done thing with my current colleagues, who are generally a lot more family and 40s+ and with whom I don't socialise. Which is not to say my previous employer wasn't a rich seam of activity.
  15. Can we just go back to the "BREAKING THEIR BUDGET" comment again please? Thanks. The first evidence it has definitely been happening, for this pre-admin anyway. Oh, and Justin Edinburgh wouldn't leave a club heading upwards with a deep playing squad and most importantly transparent and identifiable funding to buy players, to move somewhere where they're getting about 2000 people actually paying to get in (including away fans), and next season you'd think half the ST holders will quietly disappear too. I can't imagine the Crawley manager would want to go there either, they're looking at someone about to get sacked or already unemployed, and willing to work for a pittance. Hey, I wonder if Beattie would do it? Nah, why would he leave upwardly mobile Accrington?
  16. It'll never catch on.

Apart from the fact that Giroud had already pulled Hooiveld's shirt's right arm causing him to slip over at the same corner before Fonte got near Mertesacker (and did it again as the pen was being given), so it should have been a free-kick to Saints. I'd have been equally as gutted to lose to either of the goals though, ugh.

Incorrect. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25093069 "Wayne Rooney was shown a yellow card for his foul on Jordon Mutch. But because the incident was dealt with by officials the England and Manchester and United striker cannot be punished retrospectively."
  19. Which also happened to be the day they ceased being Portsmouth City Football Club (or whichever of their numerous rebirths they were on at that point), they've definitely been PCFC Ltd at some point though - it's irrelevant, just like we weren't Southampton Leisure Holdings. Ah : http://www.bakertilly.co.uk/media/news/Baker-Tilly-appointed-liquidators-to-Portsmouth-City-FC.aspx (so definitely in 2011, Andronikou admin). No idea what they were called after that and before April 2013.
  20. Anglicans and Methodists also recognise Saints, you know.
  21. Oh, and seeing as almost all the highlights online (as well as the ones in the stadium post match) only show the penalty and not the foul, has anyone else managed to get a screen grab of the shirt pull on Hooiveld by Giroud which caused him to slip over BEFORE the pull by Fonte on Mertesacker? Bearing in mind neither Fonte or Mertesacker were near the location of the ball, and Giroud hoiking down Hooiveld (which he also did as the pen was being given) actually led to him getting the ball from the corner. So, not a pen either - should have been a free-kick to Saints first.
  22. Hooiveld was open and available for the pass, had Boruc chosen to take it early after moving the ball onto his left foot (Clyne was marked to the right) - there was a slight risk of Giroud possibly intercepting, but that doesn't explain the next two dragback options Boruc took. Fonte was never on for the pass, and was never likely to be, he was in the right position to support Clyne, who chose to backpass instead, and making himself available for a pass from Boruc would have meant running into the space Hooiveld was in, which was pointless. Also, Boruc might not have wanted to pass to Hooiveld given his rustiness and what happened when he passed to Wanyama against Hull. Not that the eventual outcome was any better, but it was a split-second decision. The angle was there and he could have taken it. Oh, and here's a screenshot as proof.
  23. On the pitch on Saturday, over and over again every time he wasn't passed the ball. The few times he did get it he was no more or less productive than anyone else, and the one decent chance he had he finished awfully under little pressure.
  24. He isn't.
  25. No, Imogen's are not real, those above definitely are.
