  1. "We", according to that useless song.
  2. From what I've seen you could play through the middle perfectly well.
  3. I can probably name 200 players better than Welbeck, so that's not saying much.
  4. Within the parameters that all attempts to remove public record from the internet should be illegal... ...isn't the difference that nobody cares what you said you were going to do when you get elected, if you don't get elected?
  5. Finland's Patrick O'Shaughnessy sent off. Seriously Finnish name.
  6. It's only "in the last 2 years" now because they had a data cleansing exercise when they put the new system in and only migrated the data of the people who bothered to respond to it.
  7. He was replaced by Wigley, so it wasn't planned. Wigley, by the way, W3 D6 L8 with the exact same squad, significantly worse than Sturrock.
  8. I liked a few things from earlier in this thread. 1) Alpine claiming basically that the team which won at Brighton and beat everyone it needed to to get out of L1 was a bunch of chokers. 2) Sandwichsaint using the term "wetting the bed", in November 2010, long before "bedwetting" became part of the Forum Glossary. 3) Me not having an opinion on this 4) The people saying we should drop Fat Lambert, back when even I thought he was a class apart 5) NickG and Se-wotsit-Saint between them basically naming all of our current long serving players as being "the best in L1". Albeit with a Jaidi/Richardson/Butterfield and a really nuts Barnard thrown in.
  9. My response on FB was: "Premier League slapping themselves on the back much? Saints were doing most of that stuff long before the EPPP came along and the Prem clubs decided it was in the best interests of football that all the young talent was hoovered up by a few teams. Lucky for us (no luck involved) we were one of those few and are now reaping the rewards. And didn't we sign a teenager from Chelsea this weekend? Odd :D"
  10. It would be the equivalent of Pochettino doing a bunk to manage Newell's Old Boys now, having only played 3 of the top half, actually. As for your sliding doors theory, I'm almost as justified in saying "had he stayed, we'd have won the World Club Championship in 2003 and the last ten Champions Leagues". One thing changes, it all changes - but why settle for only being 3rd after years of crapness, have to pay to park in the car park for 15 minutes and having lost to Norwich already? Go large!
  11. And at least one Skate.
  12. He left 6 months beforehand, we went into St Mary's with the mighty Stuart Gray leading us.
  13. At face value he makes a lot of good, truthful points. But his hypocrisy in saying England should pick more talented players more often, when he was solely responsible for not picking Matt Le Tiss, and, let us not forget, Gazza, for the 1998 World Cup squad, is remarkable. Also, bailing on Saints in 2000 doesn't help his cause on here.
  14. What makes me laugh about that, is that aside from the team they just lost 3-0 to, the other 3 southern semi-finalists are Peterborough, Stevenage and Swindon, who are 3rd, 7th and 19th in the league above them, with the lowest ranked of those being the side that just knocked them out of the FA Cup.
  15. Oh, and Argus on County ‏@argusoncounty 27m County fans enjoying themselves with chants of 'ole' as the ten men pass the ball round Pompey
  16. I knew my entrenching myself as a Newportonian on this thread (and occasional Newport County attendee, I've seen them 4 times this season) would come in handy on here at some point - a midweek trip "home" with Skates all around me on the journey would have been far above and beyond, so I gave this one a miss and barely paid it any attention, tbh. County had a few reserves playing, including the keeper, and had their captain sent off with 20 minutes left, before scoring the third. I am giving it large now. As one of my mates has just said, it's cruel that Newport have robbed Pompey the chance to take 85,000 to the Final of the JPT.
  17. I can still hear the drum beating now. I said JWP "hadn't shown signs of improvement" in early August, described Matt Oakley as "the best CM in the Premier League" circa 1998 and there was that Billy Sharp thing from thinking Lambert would be increasingly injury prone from 2010 onwards.
  18. Ha, I'm glad you linked that one where I said he had lots of potential and not the one from early August where I said he didn't look like he'd improved at all.
  19. The question says "is sacking Adkins TODAY the correct decision?" - even taking out the context of Pochettino's success, who's to say it wouldn't have been better sacking Adkins after the Everton game (which we drew) or before the Chelsea game (which we also didn't win)? There's more to that question than just "should Saints have sacked Adkins", it was also about the timing - and a lot of people would also argue that it was a dubious reward for a very good job. There are also plenty of other reasons that it was "wrong" or handled wrongly irrespective of future success. In short, you can say sacking Adkins was wrong without saying appointing Pochettino was wrong too.
  20. It certainly seemed like a callback to before we knew anything. Pointless then. Not sure what the 31/37 you're referring to is? *EDIT - "enlightened" now. Ah, I see above it's a quoting of Wes Tender. Why you'd post that without the context God only knows.
  21. Better than drawing two or not? We'd have one more point than if we drew 2, but one of our rivals would have 2 points more than if they drew with us, and another one 1 point less... I suppose it would depend on whether Arsenal or Chelsea finished higher in the end.
  22. Aberdeen story is amusing, but where's the warm up room before the warm up room for the warm up? I hope we're not scrimping on these essentials!
  23. Lose and we're still probably a top half side, anything else and we're definite contenders for Europe. Which is the whole reason for defining these games as "massive".
  24. I am confused - you appear to be ignoring numerous media reports and eye-witness accounts in the stadium of Pochettino speaking English, as well as not having looked at a League table for about 6 months? Talk about holding an agenda and ignoring the facts.
  25. 0.2 of a player in one game is a player who plays for 18 minutes, surely?
