  1. Why wouldn't you think it was? http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/fans-name-the-secret-footballer-as-former-1246269
  2. And one we stuffed away with our reserves last season too...
  3. The BNP has a surprisingly attractive Education policy to me (because it doesn't mention their obnoxious immigration or racism anywhere in it and mentions going back to streaming and competition in schools). Only finding 11% empathy with the party I've voted for in the past 4 elections is an interesting one. Labour 44.44% Conservatives 22.22% Lib Dems 11.11% Green Party 11.11% BNP 11.11%
  4. How cheap is "cheap"?
  5. I'm not remotely bothered about it, we should be alright to stay up, anything else is a bonus. We have only played 2 of the top 10 and 8 of the bottom 10 though - just getting this in early so all the knee-jerkers can back off when we inevitably start losing a few games in December.
  6. The Premier League Fans' Survey couldn't have come at a better time...

Bloody good survey though, gave me the opportunity to completely put the boot in about Saints' crappy customer service.
  8. One of the main reasons MoM winners have bad results afterwards is because the award-givers don't always want to give it to the top teams, and for lower teams to be successful they've usually had an easier month, which also means they're also likely to have a difficult run of fixtures coming up. So, Pochettino wins Manager of the Month, and "coincidentally" Saints have the teams in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th and 7th to play in 6 of the next 9 matches.
  9. I think we should all accept the club doesn't need fans and just stop going. We can be the first club to win the Champions League in front of a half-empty stadium, go Cortese.
  10. Interesting to see that Saints are happy to let established pros go to make room for kids with potential (eg Puncheon and Richardson) - it isn't something that happens at many clubs.
  11. Amazing how many people think that "alcohol and the party scene" is the norm. If you've been a potential pro footballer for getting on for 10 years and brought all the way through the youth system with the education you get and the knowledge of sports science and nutrition there is nowadays, you'd probably never even try it for fear of ruining your chances compared to someone who doesn't. And if you never try it, you'll never be attracted by it. Plus once you're a Prem player there's the hassle of being recognised even if you do want to go out, and you have a load of cash to entertain yourself in other ways. It's just not worth the hassle, any idiot can go out and get bladdered.

    Helpful!
  14. James Ward-Prowse whipping in a mental spinning and dipping right footed free-kick. But only the first time he did it. Ditto Bale taking a free kick in early 2006/7 season.
  15. Rates him at £8m then?
  16. I may have said something along these lines at the time. Turned out he was ill, not just crap. And to be fair he had (I think) Seaborne and Richardson alongside him with Butterfield at right back so their decision making may have not been the best.
  17. I'll go for (still) "annoying", but agreed. and bloody hell, I left "changing the kit to something most people dislike in an attempt to increase sales" off the "accepted wisdom" list.
  18. 200k to pay off home fans so they don't bother to go to matches and inconvenience the stewards and away fans? All away fans upgraded to corporate hospitality suites? Maybe they could put it towards building that train station that's logistically impossible, or they could rent a train for away fans to get to St Mary's?
  19. My brain is now broken.
  20. Amazing how this viral advertising works, innit?
  21. Alan Bennett and Chris Makin performing as a competent defensive partnership. Marek Saganowski giving a crap once he had a contract.
  22. Don't blame me, I'm not the turd that thinks clubs sign managers.
  23. I've participated, I can confirm there isn't any.

    Squad Tonight

Even so, he wouldn't normally be part of the League Cup squad.
  25. Maybe not use the term "irish republican" if you don't want to have to explain it? I've added Ecuador and Cape Verde as other alternative home nations. Genuinely couldn't think of a Rep of Ireland Saints player I liked, as opposed to making any political point.
