  1. Using half a team they haven't registered for the Europa League.
  2. 19612 in the UEFA Cup first round at home to Vitoria Guimaraes. 20403 in the group stage at home to AC Milan 19612 at home to Heerenveen. I'm sure they'll claim that the non capacity attendances were due to away fans not filling the away end, but everyone knows the Italians don't travel and they appear to have filled that one... No doubt the argument will then become "Milan brought fewer fans so there was less segregation and more home fans" but the fact remains if they could get 20k+ for that one they could have done the same for the other two games as well, so you'd wonder why they didn't.

    Swansea Game

Not a hope in hell Austin starts. We'll rotate the strikers so wouldn't be surprised if it was Redmond and Rodriguez.

    Swansea Game

Because Austin was absolutely knackered by half time and Long is hugely out of form.
  5. We did "go for the kill", we passed the ball around and didn't let them anywhere near it for ages, they barely had a chance to attack us as a result. There's more than one way to cement a winning position than just trying to score more goals. I was quite surprised how open we still were at 1-0 to be honest.
  6. He is also absolutely not in the mould of Pelle, who is better at holding the ball up, linking play, as a target man and in the air, nor is he as awful with the ball at his feet as Carroll. Basically if we want to use him effectively we need to build the team around him. We won't be doing that, and we have other options, so we'll just have to accept that he's not going to be as effective as he could be.
  7. Not true, it's only parts of the body you can legally play the ball with.
  8. He scored a penalty he wasn't supposed to be taking, and stuck the ball in the net from a decent cross in the air, which is something we haven't been doing. Other than that he still looked completely uncomfortable doing any kind of off the ball running of more than 5 yards and actively avoided running for a few situations when he was very obviously knackered. Not Saints fit, but a great goalscorer.
  9. Interesting theory, but as the current eligibility window lasts from now to Monday at 0830am, unless there's a large cohort of people getting paid today or something I suspect there will be very few people who are able to buy today who will for some reason wait til later?
  10. They're a true reflection if you knock off about 400-500, which is where I think they started the numbering.
  11. Maybe they just put their shirts on?
  12. I thought our penalty was both comical and not given by anyone who didn't have a TV screen in front of them (the stickman appeared to indicate it but Austin was debating it with him when the ref pointed to the spot so God knows who actually told the ref to give it, the lino didn't.
  13. For "three" read "his usual one". It's practically compulsory now. Still, Forster was out quicker than usual and got him out of it. Anyway, I'd rather talk about the positives. Romeu and Højbjerg did well together, we got an early goal, and finally had the opportunity to show how well annoying defensive possession can work WHEN YOU ARE ALREADY LEADING. Austin was still toss apart from the goals (but I guess that's OK) and looked absolutely knackered and stopped running for things for a huge chunk of the game. Thought there were a few "close" offsides but haven't seen it back yet. Overall a lovely job, Van Dijk striding forward is glorious and his covering play superb. Hopefully next summer's recruitment will be a new partner for him, not a new centre back pairing.
  14. You do get that we're rotating the squad between Prem and Europa teams, right?
  15. A little bit misleading as Ward-Prowse is squeezed to fit the shirt. The normal font is exactly the same as the WE MARCH ON upper case text which has been used on all official club communications since July. The numbers are the same, you can see them on stuff like the seat numbers and prices on tickets on the ticket site. And speaking of the seat number - what are we up to for Inter (and Beer Sheva for that matter?).
  16. CharityStars via Saints Foundation I should think. Even on the outside chance they reward the Israel travellers with a shirt-flinging session it'll be the flipping away kit out there.
  17. It'll be total aways, from either season.
  18. As I suggested, I don't think they started at 1 for this one. I'm going to hazard that 0-500 are reserved for travel club.
  19. It is one of the few occasions I actually think they MIGHT be justifiable. Though this is mainly because the wife insisted on getting one in Denmark and Arnhem, people may recall I mentioned her negotiating tactic of saying "but I really want one now" when I was trying to pretend I wasn't interested to get the price down.
  20. I am hoping they're not daft enough to think I have another £400 for a bit of polyester floating around with a minimum of three away trips planned in addition to the usual aways, I'm not a bloody footballer!
  21. Incidentally Spurs broke our "single team supporters' attendance record" at Wembley tonight. And then lost.
  22. I saw a similar thing using the Spinnaker Tower to advertise flybe flights to Southampton from France today, must be the day for cheap and lazy gimmicky clickbait-style advertising.
  23. The alternative being that we're crap and no-one wants our players like every other team that isn't either in the Champions League or massively richer than us. And what on earth are you on about with "despite"? Obviously teams who sell players for lots of money are going to have lots of money.
  24. I'd loan an arm to be able to find out, but frankly you have absolutely no way of knowing if that is the case.
